Pesina's revenge -fake-
OG Johnny Cage Daniel Pesina pays an unexpected visit to the set of MK3 while behind the scenes Ed and John part ways in pursuit of their own dreams, much to the disapproval of their bastard child.

The one thing that I dislike the most in this series is the seemingly lazy, clumsy attention to detail or complete lack thereof. I understand that time constraints and all that exist, but the sloppy cut, paste, and re-size job to some of these props (the blood, especially) is just plain lazy. The edges of the blood aren't even blending in with the ground and it's obvious this prop was ripped from some image search engine. In my experience, blood ain't that difficult to crate, bro, and nowhere near time-consuming. It's definitely one of the simplest parts of a fake picture, also in my experience.

I appreciate the inclusion of shadows this time around. But, they should be connected to the feet of the characters attached to them. Boon's shadow should be a ahead of him assuming that the light source is the fluorescent light above Boon and Noob. If that's the light source, then the shadows should be much closer to the ground, but still (mostly) against the rearmost wall. You should have darkened Boon's outfit so that he doesn't clash against the background as much as he does.

The white edges surrounding certain props and sprites is unforgivable given your experience in this approach, man.

I am, however, a fan of the idea behind this piece. The reference to the untimely death of Boon and Tobias's love affair (and their vengeful love child) is amusing, if not a bit out of place.

All in all, this nets a 2/5 from yours truly.

Points duly noted, thanks for the critique! Yes, a lot of components were copy and paste, but at the same time a ton of tweaking/editing went into this piece that will probably go unnoticed. I also tried to create more ambient lighting for the stage, a technique that will take some time to hone.

I actually have to agree with Veno on this... the blood looks like pure shit.

I love the idea behind the fake and especially the irony of Ed, John, and Noob all being under that sign.

What I don't get is why Liu Kang is even there..... and him killing Kung Lao is revenge how?

Liu Kang is summoning the arcade drop with his fire chi like he does in MK3. He had to ultra focus to get this particular machine to drop down. Rumor has it that Daniel Pesina was fired because he was advertising in character as JC for competitor Bloodstorm. He's taking bitter revenge on Kung Lao actor Anthony Marquez for having retained his role from MK2. He's also witnessing the Mortal Kombat co-creator split as he crashes the party.
