Yeah.... Except Mileena wasn't cheating on her husband. And her husband (doesn't even have one) didn't cut her cheeks open like that. And Mileena has Razor sharp teeth. The only similarities is how they both want to be beautifull.

I know! isn't it so sad. I'd say yes too....but I'd keep a piece of fruit handy just incase. So sad!!!

I didn't get a chance to read all the posts here, but in case this hasn't bee brought up, here's the story of the Kuchisake Onna, or the Slit Mouth Woman:
Version 1: A beautiful Japanese House wife (to a samurai) was cheating on her loving husband, and when he found out in his rage he slit her mouth from ear to ear, shouting all the while "who will ever think your beautiful now?!?!?!?"
Version 2: A botched surgery left a beautiful woman with a slit mouth and made her lose her mind.
Version 3: a Beautiful woman slit her mouth unintentionally (while she was cutting her hair)
Or (this is the last one I know)
Version 4: a beautiful woman, criminally insane, slits her own mouth with a shard of glass.
Common Ending: Now having lost her mind due to her slit mouth (or returning to our realm through supernatural methods),she arms herself with a pair of scissors (or, though less commonly, a kitchen knife, a samurai sword, a sai (yay for MK referance!), or a sickle/wheat harvesting sai (curved top, short/long handled)), and hunts the streets at night, whenever she runs into a child, the following interaction takes place:
SMW = Slit Mouth Woman
C= Child
SMW: Am I Beautiful?
C: Yes!
SMW (takes off surgical mask that now hides her disfigurment)
SMW: HOW BOUT NOW!??!??!?!? (insert anger face here)
If C says Yes: depending on what version of the legend, she may slit your mouth like hers, give you a huge ruby, eat you (very uncommon) or kill you.
If C says no: She kills them. Brutally. Like, MK fatality brutally.
The only way to survive?
A. You can't :(
B. Say she's average, or plain, or something along those lines to confuse her
C. Ask if your beautiful
D. Offer her rock candy
E. Say you are on your way to a pressing engagement, she will excuse her manners and leave you be.
