This is a proper animation this time. Not just an uppercut I swear.

Scorpion Vs Stryker and....well just look for yourself.

I promise this one is good. And quite painful.

Holy crap, that is scary.
Forget about what happened before - You do have some good skills, this is right up there with Flash-Crash, TimsMK, and all the other great animators out there.

I would love to see more stuff like this!

Funny but way to slow and long.

If it is too slow then you are either watching it too large or your PC isn't fast enough. It runs exactly how I wanted it to so it isn't too slow.

God, please just get a diferent damn server. It took shitloads of time to ''save the target as'', then it wouldn't open correctly. It wouldn't open at all.

I'm not sure that is a problem with geocities. I have tested it myself and it works fine. The file is only 324kb so even on a 56k it wouldn't take that long.

As for it not playing... I don't know. It isn't compressed and I published it with compatibility for Flash player 4 and up. Make sure you have Flash installed.

Probably my comp's fault. I have broadband, but my PC is amazingly retarded.
Strange though, it's only happened with your anis. I wasn't able to see the other uppercutt animation either for the same reasons.

I'm can't think what the problem is for you.
I am working on putting a loading screen into it and then getting it hosted at newgrounds.
The working part is me learning how to do loading screens :P

The animation loads fine, and should load fine on ANY PC. 3 easy steps.

Just read the "Viewing Pictures Posted on Geocities" thread.

Do you have the latest Flash player installed? I believe the latest is now Flash player 7 but Flash player 6 will definitely run it. To be honest, Flash player 4 should work.

I have sent it to 3 friends and it works fine for all of them but originally one of them had problems viewing my Flash stuff ages ago. They went to macromedia.com and installed the latest player and it worked.

I really can't think of anyhting else.

I viewed it on a PII 400 at work and it played fine. For a benchmark that's got to be the bottom of the pile.

As for the animation, hilareous. There was a bit of corruption on the Stryker sprite for a short time but nothing too distracting. This animation definately is far better than any others produced on this site so far. What I'm really impressed with is the frame rate. You've got it really high and smooth. Great work.

Any particular method you use to get it to play that well?

I couldn't help the corruption on the sprite as some of them are edits of real sprites, especially the boneless skin. That is the second version of him with no bones and the first was even worse. Rotating sprites makes them lose definition, so I sharpened them. The sharpening makes them looks a bit currupt but a hell of a lot better than the blurred mess they were.

To get it running that smooth I set the framerate to 53fps, which is the same framerate as the original arcade game. I count the length of time frames are on screen in the original game and match it in the animation. For example, each frame of Scorpion's stance lasts for 5 frames, so that is what I do to.

That sounds straight forward enough. I wonder why so many have trouble getting their's to play right? Few must put in the required effort to do it right, so again, well done.

I know the games and how the look and feel so well that I can tell when I have it right.

Thanks for the praise, it is appreciated. Another animation could be ready by monday (if I ever start it).

Nice, but a few things, try doing better sprite editing and you should have used an animation for the fatality logo, the one with blood falling from the letters.

Everything else is great, keep em koming.

The sprties are edited fine. There is nothing you can do to make them look much better when you start doing your own rotation that is not in the angles of 90 or 180 degrees. I am 99% sure when Midway digitised the actors, the sprites were much larger. They could get away with editing and adding finer detail. Once they had finished they would resize them. If I enlarge them it wouldn't increase the detail.

Maybe They could be done better but I personally don't know how.

I took the concious decision to not cut out every frame of the fatality writing or the Finish Him! writing spinning off. Bottom line is I couldn't be bothered. It is infuriatingly tricky and time consuming. I spent close to 3 full days working on it and had no inclination to start cutting out another 20 frames. Plus it doesn't really matter. Everything that had to be in is in, but I will use little cheats in order to speed things up.

There is a way to get rid of all blurring on edges in Photoshop when you rotate, but it's too hard for me to explain. I'll take screen caps of me doing it later.
