That's simple but good. Just an advice, try not to "hide" the extremities, for example, not drawing the hands, feet, etc. can make people think you didn't draw them because you don't know how to. Try drawing the full body. If you don't wanna' draw for example the feet, draw some fire, smoke, etc. to cover them. The coloring is simple but cool, but I know you can do better.

Peace.

hmm well, he resembles his mk figure very plastic looking, lol, anyway for a picture focusing so much on his head this lacks one major hing detail, its really just bland, thats the only big problem with it, he also looks to skinny, his shoulders are to narrow.

Yeah, I know, I thought he didn't look "masculine" enough. I'll probably end up redoing this once I get Photoshop to stop corrupting my files.

Alright, well this isn't bad for your first attempt. Everything looks drawn in proportion with each other, but the overall base of this needs to be alot more muscular I agree. This sort of seems like a cartoon version of Scorpion, perhaps I even sense somewhat of an anime feel with this as well. It doesn't look like you have many problems with the anatomy, but the design is a bit too simple. His shoulders look like the slump too much for Scorpion as well, this in turn making his neck look a bit too thin.

As for the coloring, it too is a bit simple. The colors used, while correct in shade, could be somewhat more diverse to show more texture so you won't be left with that 'plastic' look that has been mentioned. The skin is one of the most important areas, its really all one basic color, and that shine you placed under the eyes gives it that feel. Then again, alot of anime styles often use this, but if that's your style I'd rather see the entire character. Shading is also something that's always useful in giving characters depth. There is some slight shadowing here, but a bit more would be good I think. Anyhow, I think you have the basic forms down correctly, just work on the details. Not bad for a first try.
