Hello, so for the last year I've been a busy beaver, and through a fair amount of toil, I have nearly finished creating a game that plays similar to Sonic the Hedgehog 2, called 'Sektor the Ninja Cyborg'. Trust me, it took a looong time to do this :P Should be completely finished within a week's time.

It follows Sektor's pursuit of the evil Cyrax, who has cloned the kombatants of the Mortal Kombat fighting tournament to do his bidding. There are seven stages, and the game is going to be released as 3 .exe files (Part 1, Part 2 and End Credits).

PS, the game contains an epic disclaimer in case you have copyright concerns, and I made sure the credits account for all the content present in the game...

THE GAME IS INTENDED SOLELY FOR FUN, AND NOT FOR PROFIT. EDIT: The game now only uses 2 .exe files; Part 2 and Credits were merged!

I made the game using the program called Game Maker, it's a pretty nifty program.

I'm pretty sure the game won't run on a Mac, sorry. I think I might be able to make a Mac-friendly version though...

Sweet Jesus, GAMEMAKER? Man, I remember when that was the biggest thing on CM Forum back when I was there. Only there, most people would kinda just state their intentions, and after a month, they'd become inactive and just cancel development. Makes me proud to see someone who actually bothered to finish a game, and even tell us when he's actually made significant progress.

Yeah, it woulda been a bit of a mission to make the rings fly out of you and bounce around and stuff when you get hurt. To balance this, when enemies die, they stay dead even when you restart from a checkpoint :D

Hehe that's pretty awesome. It reminds me of the old Golden Axe games on the Sega Genesis. How did they get the motion capture for the player character though?

Nope. Just double-click Part1.exe and you're good to go. If you lose all your lives after you've reached level 5, you can restart from level 5 by instead double-clicking on Part2.exe. A low-end computer may have difficulty loading the game however. My desktop which I bought about 5 years ago is able to run the game no problems however.

Sorry to bumpity-bump an older thread, but in case peoplez are curious, there's gonna be an expansion/sequel to the game. Will be ready at Christmas time!

Very cool game indeed.

I need to practice more.

My only complaint is there are tooooooooo many sonic sound effects. I'm sure you can find some MK sound effects to replace the ones from sonic. Turn the rings into MK coins, etc. etc.

Very well done none the less.

Sonic and my boy Sektor collide to make a platformer game. Can it possibly get any better than this? :)
