Well, I don't know why you'd want to save all the sprites to your hard disk...if you know what your project (whatever it is) should/will look like, just go to MKW, get the sprites you need, and that's it.

Or you could make screenshots of MKW and paste the windows together to create sprite sheets, which are big image files, but it's less complicated than having lots of small images.

half of the sprites aren`t even there....you click the picture and get "page not found". In particular i need MK sprites and can`t find many aside a full set for raiden. Also, the Kombat Tomb which has some, when i save them, they open with a white background. So i can`t cut raiden out since his suit has alot of white in it, he blends in with the background white. And the Kombat Forces site listed has no sprites. :\

Use PaintShoptPro (it shouldn't matter which version). I don't know anything about Photoshop and MS Paint will not give you transparent backgrounds. If you get PSP then you should save the file as a .gif (there's a special button for it, not in file -> save as...). If you can't find a sprite, go rip it yourself. MKW is the closest place for all the sprites you can get. The rest you should get it yourself. Ripping is tedious work and very boring so just appreciate what MKW has, ok? Thank you.

The standard MKW background color is grey. Just make a screenshot with PrtSc, open paint to paste the screenshot in, and then you can just take the sprite from there with, voila, grey background. You can also change the MKW themes to get different BG colors.

Besides, judging from your posts, you don't really know much about sprites and sprite ripping. So trust Zedox when he says that you should be happy with what MKW offers, cause ripping MK sprites really ain't fun. And it ain't easy either.

i`ve actually been using photoshop for about 8 years, and have done sprite ripping before, i ripped the entire cast of CV 1/3 before, But for this (and 16 bit sprites) it seems far more an annoyance when the sprites are already ripped, i just need to be able to open them. the issue is using gifs from these sites that are listed.The warehouse has good ones and yes i screen grabbed ones i need, but the other site(the kombat tomb) it would be just as tedious to screengrab and cut them out as from the game, since the background isn`t a solid color on the site. The credit on it is given all to Murdoink, yet it has many sprites the warehouse doesn`t. Does anyone know who runs The Kombat Tomb? It hasn`t been updated in years...and i`d like to use sprites that they have, as well as the WH.

Is it just me or are you making this more complicated than it should be? Let me say it like this...what are you planning to make? A fake? An animation? Something else?

comics. So I need all the different poses i can get. There are some on The Kombat Tomb (which aren`t on the mkw) i want to use, but they open wrong, and screen capturing won`t be helpful since the site has such a colorful background. Why is it no one else has the problem of them opening with the transparency color (bg color) not being a color thats not on the character. I tried PSP, and it opens raiden with a white background as well :(

Try saving the sprites as 24-Bit-Bitmaps, then open them in paint and change the solid BG color to pink or cyan with the flood tool. This won't work with GIFs since they're limited to only the colors that are in the sprite.

Well, however, the point is that pink or cyan are better colors for a solid BG than white or black, since the white or black parts of the sprite won't disappear when you paste the sprites into paint (or any other program) with the "color removed" tool thingy. Haha, I really don't know what it's called.

see how its a white background that it the same white as his shirt? If i fill in the white it fills in all the white, they are the same shade. So if i open it and save as, it is still white, and still eats his shirt/pants up.

go to the tomb, click MK 2 raiden, and try the second one in the first row. See if you can get it to open right and let me know. Because i know i tried that image in paint, PS, and PSP with no success. Someone must know what mistake i`m making.

If you want that sprite, make the line to make it where when you fill it, it doesn't fill in the white part. I've had to do that with SO MANY sprites its not even funny , in fact I have to do that with a project I'm working on right now. Just use common sense really. If it fills it, make it where it can't fill it.

get a hold of me (Gororules) on AIM at mkdagororules , I have all zipped backrounds, props, people, and even sounds. (used to help out at mkw)
