The Lost Temple stage is located in a realm forgotten by time. It's set in a majestic jungle landscape, a few hundred yards from a water fall. The stage is much like the Sunken Ruins tile set used in WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne. The two fighters start out at the very top of the temple. The fighters find themselves in a small, dome shaped structure at the temples pinicale. The cieling, which is the dome itself is is supported by twelve columns, surounding the outer perimeter. In between the columns, the entire background is visible, the Jungle back drop, the water fall, everything that makes this place a seaming paradise. The dome is covered in vines, and has chips of rock falling of in several places. The floor is drenched in a shallow pool of water, that seeps off the edge of the dome, and down the temple. The temple itself is also disheveled and is falling to pieces. BUt, it's also a multi-tiered enviroment. the opponents can be knocked out of the dome and down to the bas of the temple beneath. Since the Temple is built much like a staircase or Mayan Pyramid, the opponent rolls hits the steps on the way down. At the base of the temple, the fighters find themselves in an area scattered with old ruins, archways, and pools of water which serve as the stages hazards. The runes have coble stone floor, and puddles. There are also bond fires, ancient bobby-traps motion sensitive spike floors hidden from site. Broken archways, pillars, and sink holes are scattered all over the place. The opponents can be smashed into the pillars and archways. Just like the temple, the ruins are also falling apart, and can be used to the players advantage or disadvantage. These ruins stop at the edge of a giant whirlpool at the end of the stage. As a new mechanic, used in Iron Phoenix, the players can climb many of these ruins to have ledge battles, or climb up to higher areanas to do battle, and unlock secrets. The booby-traps are activated by motion switches. When the fighters step on one in a particular place, the may have a flaming arrow launched at them, or a poisned dart, each drain life through the match. Or for an imideate result, they could be torched by an open jet of flame launched from a wall. Since these are booby-traps, it's impossible to tell where a switch, or trip wire might be located, so awareness in this stage is key to survival.
Weapon: Bladed Shield Disk
This is an advanced version of the weapon used in Rygar. The shield is first straped to the arm like any shield would. However, it can be launched at the opponent from a good distance, and can be retracted just as easily. The Shield also has diamond edged blades around the surface which act like a buzzsaw. Not only can the shiled beused as a close range weapon, but it accels as a long range weapon, acting much like a whip, or sling. As one of it's attacks, it can be rolled on the ground like buzzsaw under the opponents gaurd.
Death Trap(s)
If the opponent is shot to either the opening of the Temples base, or the whirlpool, a death trap will be triggered. The first death trap is located at the base entrance of the temple. Because the temple was ment to be a tomb for a great king, entry was not permitted. The opponent is shot into the heavy stone door, triggering a series of events. First, as the opponent falls to his knees and hands, spike are out of the floor, through their shoulders, knees, thighs, and hands, stapling them inplace. As the opponent screams, two jets of fire shoot from both side of the entrance, igniting the trapped opponent. Unable to take the pain, and acting out of desperation, the opponet lurches back, tearing their own arms out of their sockets, trying to escape. As they lean back, arms now bloody stumps, swords shoot down from the cieling, carving up the opponent. As a final punishement, the twin jets of fire shoot out once more, completely incinerating the corpse.
The second death trap is triggered when the opponent is knocked back to the border of the ruins and the whirlpool. The opponent, stumbles back to the edge of the whirlpool, but regains his balance. Feeling relieved, the opponent takes a deep breath. Suddenly, the ground starts to rumble and a giant hydra shoots out from the center of the whirlpool. As it spreads it's wings, its heads began to snap at one another. It then lurches down and picks up the opponent with its three heads. As the opponent screams, the hydra shoots his body into the air. On the way down, its main head lurches up and grabs the screaming opponet. The other two lurch up shortly, and also latch on, pulling their own ways, the each tear the body into three pieces, as morsal for themselves. You hear a "gulp" as the hydra swallows its prizes, and then shoots back into the whirlpool where it waits again.
