Ni hao!

For those who have the cash to spend, I wanna put some of you here hip to Poser from Curious Labs. It's a 3D rendering program that a lot and I mean A LOT of people are using. Even though Maya is really the standard these days, Poser is so much fun to work with.

The latest version of Poser is a little over $220 these days which it much cheeper that Maya! You can download it from the site for about $200. www.curiouslabs.com

There's a great Poser community site that has a gallery that everyone(registered) can post images to.
www.poserpros.com

If anyone's interested or if anyone already has Poser, seeing MK character or concept pics done in Poser would make this site even more legendary!

So check it out!

Personally, I think it's garbage that a lot of lazy people tend to use. 95% of what I've seen done in Poser are naked/half-naked women with blank expressions on their faces. Everything looks so emotionless.

No offense to you, though.

I'm not a big fan of poser. Most people can't get the models into natural positions. They end up looking like dolls.

That really pi$$e$ me off too. All I see are faries and other superflous crap all over those galleres. But I will say that a few people explore the program further than most of those people.

The learning curve in understanding the texture maps is quite steep, but I've seen great images where as people used actual photos from friends and apply them to the maps in photoshop, then shoot them back into Poser so the thisthingisdisableds are more alive.

Most of those people don't want to go that extra mile and do more creative and innovative projects with it. Well, I'm one who's not following that trend.
