I was thinking the same thing, but a much more mature UR... If you look closely, the sprites are edited a bit, and the background actually meshes very well together.

Overall, it's a very realistic looking fake.

Did you do the Nightwolf (With the green wolf effect) fake, Fed? This reminds me a lot of that one.

The effects look great, the lightning isn't overdone, and the colors all blend very well for a clean & crisp image.

I hope I didn't offend with the UR comment, because this is actually beautiful, it just has a UR feel to it with the effects you used.

Yeah that nightwolf one was mine, I've been wanting to do a similar piece to that for ages with a different character . No offense taken man, at either of you. I'd be lying if I said I put as much time and effort into this as I usually do.

I'm glad you appreciate the background K1LLKANO cos that actually did take some work to get right. Bleed gave me some awesome tips a while back on how to make distance & perception look more realistic, so I'm glad you thought it was successful.

Effects: No, this fake isn't your best but it works very well for what it is, the dragon is a great effect and lightning looks quite nice. The mist over the water is perfect.

Sprites: They look perfect for the situation, the colours of their outfits compliment the background quite nicely.

Background: Superb, I love it. Very Mortal Kombat, yet still very real looking. Water, something I don't think is seen enough of in MK, even if only in the background, the body of water here adds so much to the background. If there was a hybrid of MKII dark atmosphere with MK1's asian architecture and design, it would be this.

I have an awful habit of cluttering fakes with overly complex sprites and backgrounds and effects. You are able to find perfect balance and I envy that. A great fake. Very well done.

You rarely see fakes that seem to pay homage to the classic MK1 so I defintely like this fake a lot. It's not really your style but I can see you were experimenting with some effects. Great job, bro. .

I agree with illu§ion about paying homage ot MK1. I definitely don't see that very often, and I personally hate using their sprites because they "R TEH SUX kwalitee" - venomark

I wouldn't really say this looks like a UR fake simply because the background and the props go together. That and there isn't an overuse of picture tubes (or whatever you call them). I like MK1 backgrounds because I admire the asian architecture. But what I'm not too fond of us the Pit 1 being back there. I like the effects, but I think the lightning should be blue-ish. I am not too sure why Smoke's smoke is forming a dragon, but it definitely looks cool.

Because it was more than obvoius some one or some people gave you zero dragons, I gave you 5 to bump it up to where the score should be (in the 3.5 - 4 area)

Well it's obvious he isn't going to make a picture just showing someone on some spikes or some piled mess of gibs because that would just look horrendous. I give it a 2/5 because the effects are there but that's about as good as it gets.

I woulda liked it if the Dragon head looked more..You know...Smokey.

I think it looks nice, and the level compliments the fight scene too.

@ XTREEMIST: hehe I used the ink blotter to capture the purpleish tinge of MK1 Raiden’s lightning, but it definitely doesn’t come out the same when you add it to an effect =P. Oh and my PIX skills suck...
