Here is a my arena without sprites. I wasn't too thrilled with the quality of my cartoony buhdda statues (well the skin anyway). Skin is not my forte, I guess. I didn't want to spend all my time on the arena.


My initial fake was going to be MK4 Raiden vs Thor (to avenge Raiden's loss against Thor in that stupid death battle from screw attack).


I didn't like the simplicity of Raiden's MK4 costume (and the hideousness of my sprite edit) so I decided to go with his MK2011 attire. I liked my Raiden sprite, but I could not find a decent way to have Thor die. His staff being shoved in his body was just not doing it for me. Plus the idea of Raiden just throwing lightning around all the time got very boring to me.


So.... then I wanted to do a robot vs robot (sort of) fake. Metal and armor is easy enough to draw. Half way through this fake I looked at it and said "fuck this." Not only did my Cyrax sprite look like shit, but I was having trouble making Iron Man look metallic rather than plastic. So much for metal and armor being easy.


Finally I got the idea of making Nitara. Initially I was considering her victim to be another vampire character, but then I wanted a real rivalry (werewolf). So then I wanted it to be that fairy boy werewolf from Twilight. I recalled the stipulations required it to be a video game character. Sticking with the werewolf idea, I was going to make Nightwolf into a werewolf but our lovely little stipulations forced me to make Sabrewulf instead. I think it turned out better that way.

I just wish I could have done a better job with Nitara's buck teeth and hair.
