Where can i go about getting a program to make my own animations?

After spending hours in the Kombat Pavilion it got me thinking about doing my own stuff, but i have no idea what i need to create my own animations. Any suggestions (windows XP) and a price range. Also, what else do i need to add sound?

You need to download Macromedia flash mx 2004. You can download it from a sharing program like Emule or Kazza.

Is it legal? cuz when i hear "sharing program" im thinking P2P
