No Mercy had a fairly awesome CAW mode. Plus you could edit the appearance, moveset and biography of any wrestler. Which means you could replace existing roster spots with CAWs. Good for getting rid of useless wrestlers.
But yeah, obviously the CAWs won't look as good as Smackdown VS Raw 2011.
