I think, the chances of the ninjas characters being DLC is pretty high. They're a sure thing and hype generators. That is if NRS isn't going to whore our MK again and shove some unrelated movie characters into it.

If they're outright intentionally holding back the popular characters like Rain, Fujin, Smoke, Mileena, etc, so that they can sell them as DLC - while giving us a boring bland base roster. I'm not buying any of the DLC out of principle and will wait to get the base game at a discount.

Someone is bound to say it so I'll pre-emptively respond:
"You say that but you'll buy it day one anyway"
Nope. I said I'd wait until the complete edition of Injustice 2 came out, yet I still don't own it. I won't buy it unless it's heavily discounted, and even then I've lost almost all interest in it at this point so I might just skip it completely.
Similarly, I haven't bought anything from EA or Activition in years after declaring I wouldn't.

And people who think game devs need to sell DLC to make a decent profit are outright lying to themselves and to everyone else.

Smoke would probably be one of Noob's customizable shadows

I want smoke to be in for DLC so bad. He was my favorite character and main in mk9.

I am worried about a couple things:

1. Has smoke been relegated to a Triborg variation? Triborg Smoke has pretty much all of mk9 smokes special moves. Plus Triborg solves a roster space issue for NRS. I think they like lumping the boys together for a 3 in 1.

2. I think what NRS means by “tons of fan favorites” is to bring back oddball characters that haven’t sniffed a roster in 10+ years. Like Sareena and Havik and Fujin.

I hope man. I keep saying it. This roster needs more male ninjas... I am just feeling very pessimistic about the chances this time .

Mick Pack, one of the developers on MK mobile, tweeted back in February that Klassic Smoke is not in the mobile game. In the past, every MKX character (including DLCs) have all made it into the MK mobile game. So, I'd say Smoke (at least, Klassic) has a low chance of making it in. Cyber Smoke may make it as DLC though.

Ferra/Torr, Alien and Predator are not in Mobile. on the other hand there are non-MKX characters - Baraka, Freddy, Jade, Kintaro, Shao Kahn. we can say since now it is MK Mobile and not MKX Mobile and in MK11 are Baraka, Jade and Shao, that they counted with them some time ago to include them. but why is there Kintaro and Freddy Krueger? so i think any character can make its way in Mobile and not be in MK11, even Smoke as classic ninja. and i would kill for ninja Smoke as DLC in MK11.

Huh, I play MK Mobile, I completely forgot about Ferra/Torr, Alien, and Predator. Whoops.

A lot they could do with Smoke:

Skin 1- Human Smoke

Skin 2- Enenra

Skin 3- Cyber Smoke

I'm certain they will more than likely make Human Smoke a revenant if he is DLC.

I think I want human smoke as DLC over the other ninjas. Even over Reptile.

I am am skeptical of his chances however. I am praying that he has not been relegated to tribirg only.
