Never get a collectors edition unless it comes with an art book.

Otherwise just wait for the Komplete edition that will inevitably come out once support for the game has ended because that's just how WB do.

Nah. To be honest, that mask looks like it takes up quite a bit of space and I've had bad habits of keeping too many knickknacks in the past. I got the MK9 kollector's edition and I still have not found anything to do with those clunky bookends. I don't want to sacrifice any more of my breathing space for collectables.

Not getting kollectors edition but was considering doing the premium edition. However at 100$ value (40 above the base game) it doesn’t seem worth it.

Yes you get the Kombat Pack 1 included and can DL it 1 week earlier but isn’t that usually like 10-15 bucks? Why is premium edition so steep? I don’t get it.

The cover art for the Kollector's edition is SO much better. Reminds me of cover art for MK1-3 with it being just the logo. But nope. Even if I had that kind of money I would not spend it on this.

Yep, I am going to get it. I got both the Collector's Edition for MKX and I got the MK11 one pre-ordered. It looks amazing.

No for me. Beyond my rather strict budget, I intend on getting the Switch version of the game, and there is no Collector's Edition for the Switch (that I'm aware of).

I stopped spending lavish amounts of money on video games long ago. As I am getting older, I find myself playing Mortal Kombat only. Have lost interest in just about every other franchise.

I 100% planned to get the collector's edition from the moment they announced it.

Then I found out it was $300 and Gamestop Exclusive and I quickly changed my mind.

Even by lavish collector's edition standards, that's too freaking much. And I get 20% off new games when buying from Amazon Prime or Best Buy Gamer's Club, so screw Gamestop.

NRS sold me on the collector's edition, then quickly talked me out of it, all within the span of one day.

I'm in your exact position there. Got a handful of games from recent years that I've bought and either played for half an hour and never gone back, or just not even opened. Too much other shit to do. MK was my first and will probably be my last video game love.

As for the collector's edition, I would have given it a little more consideration if it came with a fully articulated Johnny Cage action figure instead of a garish looking Scorpion mask. They missed the goddamn boat on that one.

If it was 150€ or so, I would probably have been a no brainer for me. For 300 it is steep.
My birthday is in May and cannot afford such a "luxury" right now, so I friend of mine just told me he wants to buy me MK11 for my birthday. And since the exclusives to the pre-order (Shao Kahn and early access) he wants to pre-order it, because he knows how I'm "obsessing" with the game. Normally I don't take gifts, but it's Mortal Kombat and at the moment I can't do with my money what I want to. For MKX, I waited for the complete version, since I actually bought MK9 3 times (one at release, one Komplete Edition and on because I found the edition with the arcade stick (which weren't really sold here).
So I'm glad I'm going to be able to play MK11 at release, but my friend keeps hinting he's going to preorder the Kollector Edition for me. And I kind of feel a bit ackward with it. On the one end, I really would like that edition. On the other hand, it's a lot of money, even if it wouldn't be my money. And I've said to him I would even be happy with the base game, I don't think he's going to listen. He's always so adament to help me because he knows I've had a hard past with and always been left in the dark by others, he feels like he needs to balance that.

I also can't find anything decent about that mask. What quality is it? What materials are used? How does it look up close? ... I would feel so guilty when it ends up being cheap plastic.

It's kind of a double edged sword. On the one hand he does it because he wants me to be happy after all the shit I've had to go through. On the other hand, he also does it because he still feels guilty about some stuff in the past, because he (and many others) weren't there when they needed to, most actually doing the opposite. I've told him and others that there are some things in life that happened, I won't forgive anyone. So "doing/giving things" to make up for it, won't work.

I don't know how to feel. I can't afford the kollectors edition, so it would be nice getting it as a gift. And I'm also tired of telling him that he doesn't need to do all that stuff. And he isn't subtle at hinting which version he's going to preorder, although I've told him not to tell me and I'm fine with just the base game. Some part of me will be relieved when he just pre-orders the base game or premium for me. The other part of me just wants that mask [if it's good quality].
I've seen some people claiming the mask is gold plated and the black is a quality cloth, but I've seen a picture where I think it's more of a plastic thing. The fact that NRS isn't showing the mask in detail has got me worried.
