Raiden has pretty much replaced Liu Kang as being the protagonist ever since reboot and post. I really love that as he is a more interesting protagonist than Liu Kang. We will have him in dark mode on MK11 and I just hope he ain't the final boss and that he ain't gonna get killed.

You work with what you got...not what you hope for.

Raiden has gone full on dark side...that tends to have consequences. I really wish MK9 had touched on Raiden’s feelings of seeing himself evil in his visions. But he never questions it. Just makes one blunder after another and then absorbs the jensei corruption and marches right along towards Destiny. Despite all that’s changed, Raiden’s fate has always been sealed...ironically enough, it’s the one fate he never seems to try to alter.

Death means nothing in MK anyway (though honestly I wish it did. I'm so done with Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, and Shinnok.)

There you go, finding a hidden advantage in an unfortunate circumstance; using pain to take you to the next level. Those are the things that turn players into kings.
