Obviously everyone is talking about the grind in this game and how ridiculously hard it is and those people also know how to play the game and their character. Now take a beginner player who might've played a previous game before and thought the game was great and all and learned the basic nature of the game. This said person was never really good at the game but could match up to medium-hard difficulty bots in single fights. Said person buys MK11, completes story on medium, learns a character and then is told to do Towers of Time to get loot because the krypt is 80% consumables. Said person goes into these towers and gets their ass handed to them y what seems to my as unbalanced difficulty scaling and really really wishes there was another way to get better loot. Sadly, there are no other better options. It just feels like this game has an extreme difficulty change between story to ToT and I could tell you right now that this game will not survive long like this. It's not a matter of "getting good" though because I hear better players complain about the same issue. I will still try to get better and see how much of these towers I can take after doing so but at this point these towers seems lopsided so that the players are encouraged to buy premium currency just to get something other than the basic gear.

Dude you just described me. One trick, when you have a tough tower let your ai do the fights you struggle with. Also practice, practice, practice. I played mkx for a bit and always getting beat just ruined it for me, but on this one and how much better the tutorials are I've gotten pretty decent. Also find a character that fits your playstyle. Even though I love jade and want to eventually get better with her, I'm loving Sonya. She's a better fit for me.

LOL that's so weird because I've been maining Jade but once I got the feel for Sonya I've been practicing with her more than Jade. You're definitely right though, using AI and getting more practice is what's been making the game more enjoyable even though I'm just sitting her watching my AI beat the shit out of tower levels.

They really need to get rid of the modifier that turns the screen entirely black for the majority of the match. No matter how much I improve, it's all irrelevant. Those matches rely only on pure luck.

The towers are damn near unplayable. Not a single person at NetherRealm was in their right mind when they decided to implement that modifier.

I hope this will be completely removed in the upcoming patch.

I've heard about this blackout modifier and it seems like a nightmare. Modifiers seem so overused in the towers for me. I'll start a combo and immediately be hit by an off screen projectile or a special move from another character every time. I think that these modifier mechanics could still be in the game but it needs to be nerfed and tweaked to give the player a more fair fight.

Itll be alot easier after the patch and there will still be more patches coming. For now just use the AI. Go to your kharacter in kustomization and go to AI n set how you want them to play. Id put kombos and rushdown all the way up

Thanks, man. I had no idea that AI was an option. I havent went anywhere near ToT since my response. I just went back to it and fought Shao Kahn with the blackout modifier again. The AI easily took care of it for me.

Kitana is shit in AI though.
