If Kai appeared next game, how would he be better than he was in MK4 to MKA? A way for him to be rebuilt as Kenshi & Tanya?
Anything besides fire?

His hand stand attacks could be expanded on. I also think MK could use some kind of Tony Jaa inspired Muay Thai fighter. Kai probably isn't coming back though.

If Kai isn't gonna come back, a Tony Jaa-based muay thai fighter can work since Liu Kang was inspired by Bruce Lee.
But how would you all see that go?

Not entirely sure why there would need to be a new hero, Cassie fits the role just fine.

Cassie was just the beginning to me.
They should have someone who is the "sign of hope" that will end the mindless fighting throughout the games.

and Kai does? At least Cassie could be improved by giving her a more unique moveset and distancing her from her parents and clone status(although she shares one common move with either of her parents so I don't understand why some think she is a clone)

I made no mention of Kai, but since you asked and since this thread is directed towards him, yes.
I'd say a (former) White Lotus member who's trained his whole life with the greatest martial arts masters in Asia as well as being acknowledged for his skills by Liu Kang already makes him a better candidate than a someone who trained at a police academy/boot camp.
Don't get me wrong, I like Cassie, but it kills me how she was handled in story mode. Gets her ass handed to her at every turn then miraculously defeats a fucking Elder God at the last minute? No bueno.

Sadly for Kai, Liu Kang is dead as is Kung Lao.

Too bad Kai "retired" in his MK 4 ending. So it would of made sense if Liu Kang defeated Shinnok if he was still alive? People saying that anybody but Cassie should of beat Shinnok lol

True, but there's still Kung Jin, and I'm guessing he'll be able to accomplish saving Lao since both of their endings alluded to it.
Also, it's pretty obvious Liu will be a heavy hitter come next game so there could still be some interactions between him and Kai...if they ever acknowledge his presence again.

I would be just dandy with Cassie being the "big hero" if they had built her up properly. Not once is there any inclination in story mode that she's more capable than any other one of her teammates. Aside from the Mediterranean war cult warrior mention, but where was that when she was getting thrashed by Ermac and Tanya? Or when Kitana was shish kabobbing her team? Or when she assumed they were all about to be killed by the Lin Kuei? Not to mention her damsel in distress role in the comics (granted, I've only read up to issue 8).
It just didn't hit me right that it happened at the oh so most convenient of times. There was no power or build up behind it. No scene beforehand that made you go "oh okay, this bitch is ferreal, she's got the stuff." It just BAM. Happens.

You know I agree. Cassie is my favorite character too, it was different to see a female MK champion and I know she trained all her life cause she mentioned it. But dang, that green energy is some powerful stuff. Lol

So Cassie being trained her while life by people who actually fought the other world's top fighters doesn't make as much sense as a White Lotus member? I'm talking about Liu defeating Shinnok in MK4. Why is green energy so much more absurd than fireballs and kicks? And her getting her ass kicked by everyone before fighting Shinnok is just how the new story modes is designed. Whoever's chapter it is will somehow be the strongest kombatant. It's a flaw when coming to pacing and consistently, but a mode in a fighting game without a bunch of fights is pointless.
Cassie should stay as the hero for at least another game or two.

This. I am getting sick of the hero is usually a monk and never a woman. Cassie is very likable and has similarities to her parents, while feeling like her own character. She is personally my favorite of the new characters and I for one would like to see her come back for many sequels.

This. I can't stand her. She's such a blatant attempt by NRS to market to the "youths" of today. Her haircut, her dumb "edgy" attitude and lame ass catch phrases make her easily the most obnoxious character to date. Following in close second is Jacqui and "say my name, bitch!" which makes me cringe every time.
Please NRS, I beg of you, no more.

I wonder why NRS would ever decide to market their characters to the "Hunger Games" generation with Cassie instead of your "Enter the Dragon" or "Matrix" generation like with Liu and Kenshi? I don't know, but I'm getting the feeling that they made MK9 for nostalgia and are now moving towards a more modern appeal. Call me crazy.

The hero yes, but I think there should come a time where Raiden takes his leave and Nightwolf becomes the new mentor figure and takes the role of main character for a game.

Shit, let everyone get a turn being the champion. Don't matter to me lol

I think Kai could be cool if he comes back to help Fujin stop tyrant Raiden.
Yes please! I fkin love Nightwolf! And speaking of Nightwolf (as I go completely off topic), earlier today I was thinking about the current state of the Netherrealm with Liu and Kitana running things. Nightwolf is probably some kind of advisor to them, maybe their "arch-sorceror," since he's clearly a master of rituals and magics. He'd fill the same role to them that Quan Chi did for Shinnok, maybe helping them discover portals and shit lol. He would help them with magic-y stuff, maybe he will study and make use of the knowledge in Quan's fortress. But I would love for him to come back to life and be a major mentor type at some point. He was basically Raiden's number 2 in MK9. He's just really cool lol.
