Mine would incorporate a re-telling of the Deadly Alliance into a new story where Liu Kang and Shang Tsung team-up to try and gain power together to rule the realms from the Mystery Lady who, being the Protector of the Dreamrealm and a denizen of that area, has the ability to travel between alternate dimensions via dreams. She thinks via Raiden's meddling that the two dimensions he influenced are corrupt and need to be "re-balanced" by eliminating them all-together.
