I wish you can change the default skin to match the icon on the select screen. there is a row of revenants and they grey up the entire select screen and make me not want to main them for some reason. The main select screen should be able to have human liu kang and human Kung Lao. Also better have a Shang Tsung Annoucer voice pack with the DLC too :)

One of the dumbest things about MKX was giving dead characters human primary costumes.

Are they? Depends on the timeline doesn't it. I hate seeing revenant Kitana, Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Jade on my select screen. I still play them though. And I don't have anything against revenants being a thing, it actually helps with the story. But I like the idea of the icon, matching the selected skin. Or just make it customizable. Especially in a game like this, with time traveling etc.

in the case of Liu Kang and Kung Lao, it was dumb to give them human skins as older men. but in the flashback of the past they were alive and young, so i dont see it as dumb to have them as human live young skins :) on the other hand, if those two got young skins, so should Jax, Sub-Zero, Scorpion. it will always be strange if you have more than two skins for kombatants...

I would love to select the kharacters in their classic design. I don't like the revenant look. I don't care if they are dead and should be look like this. I love the MK3 outfit for Liu Kang and not the shitty revenant look. Meh...

1) It was random giving Kung-Lao and Liu Kang completely non-canon older human skins that literally showed up no where else in MKX's story. They would've made excellent alternate costumes though, which I think shouldn't have to always be canon which lead to my next point-

2) I like the revenant looks and whilst I can't wait to see Kitana, Liu ect back to their traditional looks come MK12- I don't see why revenant costumes can't simply still be around as maybe bonus DLC or something. They'll have no bearing on the story and would totally be optional- I'd love that. What I liked about Kitana, Liu, King Lao, Jade ect being revenants was that it gave them all some much needed new material other than just always being the good guys, MK11 especially did a great job at showcasing the duality between their younger heroic selves and their current undead evil personas. Probably some of the best writing/material in the entire MK9/MKX/MK11 trilogy. ESPECIALLY with Jade, that's the best character development she's had since...well ever.

Its the loayout of the screen. They put everybody by faction on the character select screen, they could of even made them CHANGABLE which is what I said earlier which would appease everybody OR they could of seperated them on the screen and not put all 5 of them together making one side of the screen grey. I'm not OCD but it really ruins the look and feel of the select screen. It even affects the pick rate of characters I bet if they ran an experiment later on and changed the select screen icons around. They arent dead in the timeline either because they both show up a the same time in the story and well they end with the humans. The game could of done better with skins and made a gold mine too..... No MK3 or MK1 sonya? No MK3 MKDA MKD MK1 klassic skins for the ninjas? No MK1 Liu kang? No dark Raiden MK:D? Easy monry NRS and most of the skins in the krypt are just color swaps of the same damn skin in mk11. They also could of had covered clothing for females and klassic skins for people that like cleavage. Appeal to everybody instead of half of everyone = $$$

Or at least get their shit straight and make the Revenants separate from Noob Saibot and Scorpion because one in the same they are not. But they want to simplify this crap to make it easier on THEM, so that won't happen.

It was part of the story arc for this trilogy. Shinnok was basically like the Night King from GoT. It was also used to develop other characters (Jax). It is hopefully a gimmick they give a break to, but it was fine for what it was.

I just have to say, I think it was a nice change to make Kitana and Liu Kang evil. It brought new life to their somewhat one dimensional characters. Kitana has a good backstory, but she got boring as a good guy.

I also have to say their revenant costumes are really cool. Especially Kitana’s. I don’t understand why they made her revenant costumes so good and her human form costumes so bad. Her human costumes were far superior in MKX, they deserve a better follow up then her boring ass human costumes she got in MK11. The costume is awful, the hair sucks, and the headband is ugly. Her boots are nice though.

I have nothing against the revenants, at least Ed boon didn't say "FUCK IT, Make em into werewolves!"

Yeah but they sucked as revenants. We're talking Lou Kang, Kitana, Jade, Kung Lao, iconic badass characters that were nothing more than MK's version of putties from power rangers. All they did was serve, get their asses kicked, rinse and repeat. They served not one not 2 but 3 different characters. They could've at least made them anti hero like scorpion or something given who these characters are, or had Kitana or jade become freed along with Jax and the others so that there was an actual dynamic for said characters and give them something to fight for. Nah, just leave em undead, no one else cares about them and let them just get their asses kicked more.

I agree for the most part. While I personally don't like any of the revenants whatsoever for my personal use in arcade mode, I do feel that they were nice to have and benefited the MKX and MK11 story lines. However, since MK12 would be a clean slate for the timeline since Liu Kang, Kitana and Raiden are technically the only characters that even exist anymore at the end of the MK11 story, yes...please....NO MORE revenants going forward!

Don't get me wrong, I don't even like the revenants and agree with the above, I wish the default character select icon could match our default costume loadout we've chosen, but if they do have to be in the game, why are they not represented with the level of in-character detail they had in the last game? It's so jarring to hear a rotten corpse of Kitana talking all heroically and happily at the start of a match when she's meant to be in her evil soul-controlled form.

Agreed! What's even worse is when you're playing as a character with a 'good guy' skin against a revenant and the dialogue is reversed where the good guy says something evil, and the revenant says something a good guy would say. Like Revenant Kitana against Hanzo Hasashi era Scorpion for example.
