Don't we already have this thread appear not so long ago?

I know I made one not too long ago allowing people to make the case for underutilized characters which, quite honestly, is basically the whole 3D era. I know others have too. With that said...

Li Mei. I just want Li Mei man lol.

I definitely want more 3D era, including MK4, representation in MK11 and beyond. Frost was a part of the leaked roster a while back, and they brought back Kenshi, Bo Rai Cho, Shinnok, Tanya, and Quan Chi. But there are still other characters that deserve the modern treatment, so to speak.

From MK4: Fujin, Kai (maybe)

From Deadly Alliance: Movado & Drahmin if both are redesigned from the ground up

From Deception: Havik, Ashrah

From Armageddon: Daegon, maybe Taven if they decide to revisit the Armageddon story full-on.

I would not mind 2-5 3D era characters per game. If I were NRS I would pick a few favorites from the 3D era, then gage fan reception and number of players for each of them. The top 50 percent should come back for the next game, maybe work towards having them become staple characters. The bottom 50 percent, I would swap out for a couple others.

One thing to remember is roster space seems to be limited, and expect a base roster of about 20-25 characters. For every Li Mei and Havik you put in, expect to sacrifice a Mileena or Reptile.

Excluding Shinnok, Kenshi, Quan Chi, Tanya, Bo' and Frost...

Havik, Hotaru, Li Mei, Reiko, Onaga

Honorable mentions: Sareena, Fujin, Daegon

I'm really surprised Ashrah and Havik haven't been explored more. I believe they have a ton of potential. Hopefully DLC...!

Am I the only one that wants to see Kobra? Lol. I think if done right he has some potential. I’ve been dying to see Reiko and Havik.

Aside from the ones confirmed to be in the game already...

I wouldn't mind seeing Moloch, Drahmin, Kira, Havik, Ashrah, and definitely Sareena (although she's a PS1 era character, technically).

But aside from those, I'd be perfectly happy not seeing any of the PS2 era characters ever make a comeback to the franchise.

I hated Hotaru back in the day, but I would love to see a modern redesign of him considering how cool the designs have been in MKX and MK11. Also, I'd love to see some more Orderrealmers and Chaosrealmers... doesn't have to be the same characters that we've had in the past - just more from those realms.

I've never cared much for Fujin, but I always thought he had a lot of potential.

I liked Li Mei, but the bulky art style back in the day never did her any justice. Her cameo in MKX gave me Michelle Yeoh vibes - which is never a bad thing.

I'm excited to see what they do with Cyber-Frost. The only cyber character I've liked so far is Cyber-Sub-Zero... but Cyber-Frost has the potential to be even better. I always prefered Frost over Kuai Liang anyway.

Yeah, but they won't. They killed a good amount of the ones I cared about in that comic. As bad and mostly ignored as that comic is, NRS is likely to fully commit to the deaths within it to broom off the excess of their roster to make room for their new toys.

Yes they should. I'm hoping they include at least 2 of them in the DLC Pack. Li Mei and Havik. Highly doubt it though.

Well Havik got his head smooshed in the comic and as non canonical as that comic seems to be, it's likely the killing of lesser known or 3D era characters is something NRS wants to have stick. It seems they have have forgotten how the Netherrealm works.

The characters, who have not been featured as playable since the rebooted story, that I would like to see as DLC are...

MK4- Fujin, Kai, Reiko

MK:DA- Drahmin, Li Mei, Moloch

MK:D- Ashrah, Havik, Onaga

Fujin should be among the playable Elder Gods, Kai should be featured with the other Shaolin monks (Liu Kang and Kung Lao), and Onaga should fight the other rulers of Outworld (Shao Kahn, Kotal Kahn, and perhaps Mileena).

Sareena, Havik, Li Mei and Fujin

All the characters that were NPC in Mortal Kombat X deserves the spot.

Yeah I re-read that comic. RIP Havik, never thought his character to be a Blood God Dictator. Felt he was more of a neutral character plotting things behind the scenes for his agenda against Order.

It's Havik. If Johnny Cage and Shao Kahn can bullshit their way out of dying a solid canon death in the actual games, Havik can sneak out of a comic book death with questionable credibility.

His head survived remarkably well without a body. Maybe his body can grow a new head. It's Chaos. Anything can happen.

I can’t take the notion that the comics are canon, seriously. Kittelsen can yell it from the mountaintops all he wants, but the comics got retconned the minute the actual game it was based on, came out.

That would make sense. Havik and everyone from that realm should be walking contradictions to logic and reality rather than just running on Bizarro logic but I think that would be expecting a little too much from the writers of MK these days.

I think the only thing NRS is going to treat as canon from those comics are the deaths because it's the lazy, easy way out of their massive roster problem. Plus they don't like the majority of the 3D characters so I think it's more than likely they would just do away with them with those insulting deaths.

Nothing else will stick, but the deaths of those characters, oh baby do they ever want those to be real.
