What if the second scorpion that appears is Boons twisted way of hinting at No Mercy returning from MK3.

I think the second Scorpion appearing is hinting more at time travel. If "Mercy" does return, it means Animalities are back and that would be awesome!

I was thinking that maybe the Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion personas were somewhat separated, like what we saw in MKX. Raiden starts the fight off against Hanzo, and then when he kills him, he frees his soul to return as the specter Scorpion.

Not sure. I took it as 1 of 2 things.

1. The fight is not Scorpion VS Raiden but Raiden VS Takeda. Takeda is killed and then Scorpion appears and kills Raiden.

2. That is Scorpion and he is killed by Raiden bringing his old demon spectre back to life.
