I remember how disappointing it was that none shipped with MKX but the team created them over the next few months and snuck them in on a free update so there's always hope !

Well, with the amount of stages we are getting now, I think they understood the message what was wrong in MKX regarding stages. I'm pretty sure they are in there.
If you haven't noticed, they actually didn't show a lot about the game, just the characters. I have a feeling they want us to discover the stage fatalities for ourselves (in a way).
