I'm neither a fan nor a hater of Cyrax, so from a story/appearance perspective it really doesn't matter to me whether they make Cyrax a human or cyborg.

However one thing I have found puzzling about the human Cyrax movement is his special moves. Every special move Cyrax has ever had was distinctly hi-tech and tied directly to his cyber body.

So I'm curious: if your a fan of the human Cyrax idea, how would you set up his special moves? Also would you have human Cyrax keep the laser sword or give him a different/no combo weapon?

Well, he could throw bombs and nets, rather than eject them from his chest. You could have a variation of the teleport punch to make up for his explode / teleport. I've got nothin' for the chestsaw.

As far as weapons, let him keep the laser sword. Granted, it's a little high tech for a ninja, but nobody balks at Travis Touchdown's beam katana, so why not?

Using ropes, very similar to Jarek in MKA. Instead of the green cyber-net, just a regular rope net would work.

There are two problems with creating a human Cyrax.

1) His name. Lin Kuei who aren't cyborgs all have code-names that are real words relating to their powers. Guy who makes ice is "Sub-Zero", guy who makes smoke is "Smoke". What's a "Cyrax"? Nothing, it's deliberately meant to sound like something you'd call a robot.

2) Powers. The Lin Kuei's recruitment method is to kidnap and train children who were born with special powers. Or to recruit the children of their current members who have inherited their parent's powers. Cyrax, unlike Smoke, doesn't show any signs of non-tech based abilities. All of his special moves come from him being a robot. So what COULD he do?

Or are the Lin Kuei members with powers just their rarest and best agents, and they do have normal humans who are low ranking grunt assassins? Is that why Sektor and Cyrax were the prototypes, then? So if the process didn't work, they didn't waste the life of an agent of actual value?

Well I really couldn't see having two yellow ninjas. He would then be just a less cool version of Scorpion.

Ah yes, I forgot about that. Make that three problems then.

Yeah, mainly I started this thread because I saw so many people suggesting Cyrax stay human. Not trying to rain on their parade but it kind of left me scratching my head how they think that would be accomplished gameplay wise or if they even had thought that deep into it. So I wanted to see what they had to say on the matter.

They could invert the color scheme. Cy could be black where Scorp is yellow and yellow where Scorp is black. Not the most elegant solution, but it'd do in a pinch.

His Deadly Alliance alt is the closest I ever want to get to "human Cyrax."

He'd be like Tarzan. Instead of a hi-tech laser net, he'd have a normal-tech rope net; and instead of throwing bombs, he'd throw rocks; and instead of a teleport, he'd have a rope swing; and instead of a piledriver, he'd have whatever it is that jungle people do when they want to set people up for their flying elbow drop off the top rope.

Seriously, good question.

This is intresting as one would assume that all the cyborg ninja's were once a member of the Lin Kuei, but as someone pointed out Cyrax seems more of a robot name.

So if Cyrax was a Lin Kuei ninja at one point then wouldn't he be wearing a blue ninja outfit or one of them Reiko coloured ninja outfits that the higher up Lin Kueis had in MK Mythologies (I can't find a picture of one of the head lin kuei guys with the funny suit anywhere) although Temor was in the Lin Kuie and he wore yellow like Scorpion, so who knows (Maybe Tremor is pre-robot Cyrax?).

Personally I would love to see a human Cyrax as it would seperate him from Sektor as you always think of them two when you see the other.
