Ah..no. I do not want another worthless scavenger hunt or a RPG wannabe. I wouldn't mind a Konquest option if it was fun, but we are already getting a story mode to tell the story so its not really needed.
I actually like the idea of a Konquest mode more like Deception and Armageddon. Deception where one have more free range and longer time in carrying out the missions and Armageddon where one can have the story play out. As I have said in another post, we must distinguished between the storylines show after the arcade mode and the over all storyline. Because for the most part, the storyline show after the arcade mode, portray a more the winner stands alone in his or her victory after defeating both friends and foes. Meanwhile the overall storyline is Mortal Kombat is actually a war, and the actually winner doesn't really matter, just which side wins.
Personally I think the Konquest in this one should revolve around younger Raiden in how he tries to alter the events from MK1-3.

I hope so. Story Mode in DC Universe was pretty boring after thirty minutes. It was just "Fight/Cut scene/Fight/Cut scene/Fight/Cut scene." I liked running around in Deception and Armageddon.
From the sound of it so far, the new MK is going to have a story mode similar to what we saw in DC Universe, which I guess makes more sense but I don't think it's as fun. I played Deception and Armageddon's Konquest modes at least four times each over the years and they still hold up. I actually replayed Deception's Konquest last week and I started Armageddon's again last night.
With MK vs DC Universe I played each side of the story (MK and DC's) and never played the story mode again. :/

My Thoughts exactly. The fight/cut scene/fight/cut sene in MKvsDC got old real quick. I played MK story mode once and arcade mode a few times and haven't touched the game in a year and a half. It just had no replay value for me. I have however in the last year and a half played MKD and MKA konquest mode several times. If they are not to have a konquest mode then they need to resume work on the MKSM sequel. While I still enjoy the arcade deathmatches to an extent my tastes have changed from when i was a teenager. I used to be a huge fight game fan and got titles like tekken and streetfighter. But i'm just not into that as much anymore and now crave story and adventure. Would like to see konquest mode again.
I never got why they put so much effort into these second rate "adventure" modes in the games.
It's a fighting game.
so I say NO to konquest mode and YES to a survival mode, which I've always wanted in a MK game. It would add so much to the replay value of the game.

Arcade Ladder + Extense and deep Story Mode + Endurance/Survival mode + Challenge Tower + Greatest Online Mode ever in a MK game = Surprisingly high replay value = no need for a Konquest Mode delaying the release date of the game and/or taking off the focus of the Team from the fighting mechanics.
