Nothing happened to him.

His story is that he's a clone body Shang created in his Flesh Pits that became self-aware and ran away before it was finished and thus has no skin or identity of its own.

MK9 is a prequel to the only two games he ever appeared in, MK4 and MKA, so one can assume he hasn't been created yet (and in that case never will now that Shang's dead) or he has been, and just hasn't broken out and run away yet.

From the start they should have just said Meat = Drahmin.

Meat was given a fun and nice little story in MKA, but, he's never really been significant to anything.

I much rather see the return of the likes of Nitara, Drahmin, Ashrah, etc over a character like him.

I don't hate Meat, but, I do think he'd be a waste of a slot considering the many valuable (and more popular) options out there.

Hopefully Meat makes it in MK10 along with the rest of the MKGold roster, Kenshi, Bo'Rai Cho, Skarlet, and the dead guys that weren't in MK10. (Minus Kahn and Shang.

If he doesn't, I'm sure he'd have a higher chance to get in over Drahmin or Kobra.

Why? He's a non-character. Drahmin may not be Boon's favourite but he's got a hell of a backstory and pretty high potential.

Meat wasn't stated by Ed himself to be one of his least favorite MK characters, nor did he his chances of returning are slim. (probably are, but not as low as Drahmin's)

Meat was technically part of the MK4 roster, so that's why I want him back. Meat has some potential, but he should remain a joke character. No need to develop him much. Let him be a fun hidden fighter.

However, we should have meaty DLK before Meat DLK.

Why should ANY of the characters from the later games that no one really gives a crap about make a return? Some, like Kenshi, or Tanya have huge followings, but Drahmin, or Meat, or Kobra? No one liked them when they were new, why would they like them now? Just because a handful of weird fans will flip out when it's revealed they died in a tragic car crash in the new timeline? Not a good enough reason for NRS to not just develop new and good characters. Sure, I'll be sad that Kira doesn't come back, but I'll get over it. It'll be a worthwhile sacrifice to be sure I don't ever have to look at Meat or Mokap ever again.

Lady in Purple? Just sayen' EVERY character has a fan and can be improved. Except Sheeva :P Shes still crap.

Meat may not become dlc for this MK 2011 game, but, he will be in the roster for the next game. Hopefully it will come out next year, 'cause there is no need to take two years to make it nor we need a stupid adventure game. Besides, we also don't need all that other crap (ie; artwork, krypt, etc.) in the next game.

i think it would of been better if meat was in the game than skarlet because meat is a bag of bones and flesh. i always thought meat could of become a type of blood god similar to what they did in blade the movie but instead we got skarlet using blood powers.

i do admit she looks good as in appearance wise but not digging her playstyle in the recent videos. maybe meats rival could be skarlet or maybe skarlet and meat could become blood kings and queens.

like to hear your opinion on my thoughts of having meat be a bigger role in the next game if they follow mk4 and so on.

Meat was a good joke character. I don't know why Ed dislikes him - he'd be fun if given a silly story and not taken seriously.

Lady in purple is the exception to all rules about obscure characters.

Perhaps that creepy fleshpit creature we saw in the krypt could be meat. It's possible in the new timeline that meat turned out differently but again is clearly an incomplete creature. It is from the fleshpits and it's running around on the loose. Fits meat's MO pretty well in my opinion.
Incidentally, I hope they make that creature dlc so that I can kick the crap out of it for the number of times it made me jump.
