Looks good. The pose is very plain, but for a concept work, that's expected.

I'm partial to her MKD alt anyway. The primary didn't look bad, but the super-slut appearance just screams out Mileena to me. Not to mention the main MKD costume ultimately belonged to Kitana, that is if Ermac's ending is indicative.

? It never belonged to Kitana. Kitana was not playable in that game and just for the sake of making the sisters look like twins they gave Kitana Mileena's costume and painted it blue. For all we know, after they enslaved Kitana (who was using her MKDA alt look at the time) they made her use Mileena's costume just for eye candy. Hehehe.

You can even read in one of the Concept Art pics unlocked in the Krypt that they were developing a costume with Kitana on their minds, but ultimately decided to tweak stuff and add details for Mileena. The first version didn't even have the veil idea, the long sleevs, etc. The whole Persian/Arabic theme was designed for Mileena.

Mileena's MKD primary costume was a perfect combination of "elegant", powerful, and slutty. All in one. I hope it comes back with a twist!

These are directly form the EGM magazine, photoshopped out and put on a white background, theres one for Subzero, Sektor, Mileena, Reptile and Johny Cage and kung lao. Each with a brief Bio

I have the magazine right now and looking at it, they may have received it by some other means. Sektors hand in the magazine is covering aprt of Mileenas arm as all 6 cahracters are side by side. So this is probebly from another source than the Magazine.

EDIT: This IS directly stolen form the magazine, I can see Sektors Fingers on Mileena's arm ona second look. A mod needs to at least be notified as Scans arent allowed. a photoshopped image of a character seems to be on the fence tho. I will contact somebody.

It makes me so happy that the first characters to be revealed and advertised for this game are those iconic ones that should/could had been playable in MKvsDC, but that for obvious reasons, never made the cut.

Any interesting mentioned in the bios of the characters?

They speak much of individuality. They want to stress the term "Mastery of a character". They want it to take much more than a day or two to master how a specific character plays or to overlap the approach to palying form one character to another.

Some characters will have to focus on special moves to be effective, otehrs will focus on speed, and others on power. Some characters will even concentrate on "throws" as a main aprt of gameplay.

They are also trying to limit and shorten the "Baked in" feeling of doing combos or special moves that leave you open or unable to fight back. They dont want people to think "oh my god im getting beaten all over the place". By shortening the animations and periods of time you are open for getting hit, It comes down to skill. They want a heavy focus on back and forth gameplay. They really want it to feel like a battle.

An amount of String Combos WILL still be represented in teh game, but in a mannor that keeps them short and up for interpretation for people to create their own costom kombos.

They speak of the online modes like "King of the Hill" and "Tower of Power". I would immagin KOTH will be changed to something else before release. Players can actively communicate with the 2 people fighting. Also scoring their performance from 1-10 at the end of the fight. "Tower of Power" is to have some simple challanges, and some extremely hard challanges. Currency is to be implimented so you can buy your past the hard ones and poses hard decisions like "Do i want to buy past this or giv'er a shot".

Then there are the character Bio's, just a brief overview. nothing we dont know already. Other than that, just talk of the fighting game genre and how they have adapted and what they want to do. Good article.

I think Midway's artists ripped off my idea....

I did two pieces of Mileena fanart back in '06 (One is in my signature). Now... I'll grant you that I'm not the most accomplished artist in the world, especially 4 years ago, and that their final Mileena is certainly much better looking than mine. Mine are a far cry from being so awesome...

What I'm refering to however, are the accents on the top and bottom of her mask which create the simulated look of teeth, which is something I did in both drawings. (Mine however were much less subtle)...

She did have point things on the top of her mask in deception however, so they may have just expanded on that look, and so this might just be a coincidance. Hell, it's down right likely it's a coincidance.

I'm really not trying to bash midway or make a big hubbub about this. The looks are far from identical. Just saying... I feel like most if not all artists... when trying to come up with a good concept, especially in today's internet age... go looking for other people's interpretations and picka nd choose the best things that they think work to bring over and intermingle with their own ideas.

And I did the "teeth" mask thing they're doing on her mask 4 years ago...

While I'm aware that It's very very likely that it's not true, to make myself feel important, I'm gonna pretend that some artist combed over deviantart for Mileena ideas, saw mine and said, "Teeth mask... that's cool." Then ya'know... did it better than I did. lol...
