Does anyone think we will actually get the costumes as DLC for ps3/360? Even though Ed Boon had stated a firm 'no', do you think he's just trolling?

I think it will be in the air for a while but will never get around to it, and most of us will forget.

You mean the fancy dress you wore in Frank's birthday? I don't think that you can just download costumes, so I'm gonna say definitely maybe.

I'm kind of thinking they could, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Clearly, they had the actual models for the Vita-exclusive costumes, as the Congratulations! screen for Bonus Challenge Tower shows three of the DLC's alt's in console graphics.
However, maybe NRS is truly done, though, and doesn't feel like putting in a smidge more effort to appease the console gamers. Some people would clearly buy the costumes in a heartbeat if they did.

I have no hope, though. Maybe, in MK10, they'll put Skarlet and Kenshi's alts back in, in much better quality.

My guess would be "No." You want to release DLC when the game is at it's peak so as many people as possible will buy it. Casual gamers aren't going to pick up their copy of MK (if they still even have it) and jump at the chance for a few costumes. Thus, the only people to buy it would be hardcore fans and some of them won't even buy them. Is it really financially worthwhile to do this now? I'm no DLC expert, but is there typically this long of a gap between DLC releases for most games?

I mean it's kind of slap to our faces really. MK was released. Then there was DLC we were offered. Then they release MK Komplete Edition with the DLC anyway. Then the Vita edition which has even more stuff on it making the "Komplete" edition not really complete. Now's there talk of wanting more DLC to purchase? How much is enough?

Granted MK isn't alone in this shady practice, but c'mon. This is the same game released 3 different times/ways. The "Komplete" edition was released at $60 for goodness sakes. Even Capcom dropped the price for Ultimate MvC 3 at launch.

Personally I like my stuff on disk. That's just me. Maybe that 's why I have added disgust for DLC when the console games already start out at $60.

Boon's a troll, not a liar. When he says "no" flat out, multiple times, it means no. Now if he were to say "Not at the moment" or "we're not working on anything" or ANYTHING accompanied by a winky face, that's a sign there might be more. But he has flat out shut down the possibility of new DLC. Sorry to disappoint you,but the Vita exclusive stuff is Vita exclusive.

I think we've gotten all the DLC we'll ever get for this game. Sucks, because I would have loved a few more MK1-MK3 arenas that didn't make the cut and those alternate costumes for Rain/Kenshi/Skarlet plus a NON pallet swap alt costume for Rain.

But it's a dream now I guess.

It's amazing how we can help NRS gain multi-awards/money/fame for this almost amazing game BUT it just ends here, I mean after playing MvC3/UMC3/SSF4AE/SFxTK/SC5 I mean there's no reason to not please the fans that won you all that fame, their all almost amazing games but MK9 does top the rest, if only they made an Ultimate MK9 Perfect Edition:

Tremor
Sareena
Reiko
Meat with MKA movelist
Frost
Li Mei
Tanya
Fujin
Hornbuckle
Blaze
Nitara
Havik
Chameleon
Khameleon
Cyber Chameleon
Jason Vorhees

Survival Mode
Brutalities
Tag-Team Fatalities

Please no, the Vita port is enough. I hope that NRS doesn't turn into a company like Arc Systems and Capcom. MK9 might need one last patch, but an update with new characters and arenas is unnecessary imo. NRS should focus on something new instead.

Just because fewer people play online doesn't mean that the game is dead, there's an offline community you know. I've found out there were people in my town still playing this game and were interested in getting better, we have been getting together for some casuals. I've been playing this game for nearly a year and you don't hear me complain about not getting new contents.

Was it NRS that stop supporting MK9 or was it the so-called true MK fans?

The thing is, NS doesn't need to be like all the other fighting companies and make more additional games to the big game instead of just continuing on with the series.

That's what I like about this company. Sure they're in competitions with the other fighting games, but they certainly don't act like how there's countless of additions to the game. Maybe one, and there's hardly any new content other than having a few costumes and a mode. That's it, while unlike Street Fighter, you have so much variety of new things it's outrageous to spend about another $30 after spending $60 for the game already.
