Question about Mileenas new look

I checked a couple pages in to see if there was any post on this and I didn't see anything, so I have a question.

Mileena's new look wont allow her to "look like" Kitana anymore.
The eye's they have given her are more like Baraka and less like Kitana.
So I'm trying to figure how they could try to move the story we already know with Kitana and Mileena with the new EYES Mileena has?

Will her story already be different?
Will Kitana not think that Mileena is her twin?
Will Kitana already have been killed by Shao Khan?
Even the later incarnations of Mileena in MK D and on still looked like Kitana, but with these new Baraka eyes I can't see that being the case.

Mileena has always been a clone of Kitana mixed with the DNA of a Tarkatan warrior. So she has always resembled Kitana but with some of Baraka's features. I'm guessing they just decided to make her look even more like him by adding the eyes.

Well, she definitely won't be able to have a story where she tries to pass off as Kitana anymore. I'm guessing Mileena will be a lot more of her own individual this time around, not attached and dependent on Kitana, which I think is great.

Mileena's been rendered with different colored eyes than Kitana's since MK4. So this really isn't much of a change, just making them even more yellow. And Kitana HAD to have been aware from the very beginning that her "sister" had a deformity. I mean she can't have never seen her face without the mask if they were raised together like they were. So she can still easily pass for "twin sister".

I dont see why Mileena wont have the same story as before Netherrealm Studios just changed her design ( which I think looks better than the way they made her look in MKD ) because now they can put a lot more detail into their characters thanks to the next gen consoles and the engine they use.

I always thought her white eyes where because she had come back from the dead thanks to Shinnok.

Also... that whole Tarkata DNA thing has been said since Deception... originally she was just a flawed clone.

I agree that it is kind of dumb that she is so different looking from Kitana. They are supposed to pass off as twins... thats the whole purpose of Mileena, thats why she was created by Shang Tsung! If all they have in common is breast size and hair color... well... that kinda defeats the purpose.

That is my point.

If we are going back to the original MK timetable then she shouldn't look like this UNLESS something has changed.....right?
They didn't create her to be a clone of Kitana. Or there is something different about Kitana that we haven't seen yet.

It's just eye color. She has the exact same face as Kitana above the mask.

thats not possible anymore Razor with Mileena having Baraka EYES.
Unless she is gonna go down to the local WalGreens and get some contacts.

Apparently the other MK characters couldn't even tell that in Deception, if I were part of the Edenian army, I'd just have to ask "Kitana" why she is wearing pink. Maybe the other game characters are colorblind.

Why are you making me repeat myself?

It's JUST eye color. She has the same eye shape, forehead shape, eyebrow shape, upper nose shape, hair color, and body shape as Kitana. And everyone in Outworld knows that even though they're twins, they don't look the same because Mileena is "disfigured".

As has been already pointed out, her being able to pretend to be Kitana was dumb in Deception anyway because of the bright pink clothes. Just for the record, even in THAT game, Mileena had yellow eyes while Kitana's have always been brown.

This is nothing more than the wonders of technology. I don't know why you're reading into this so deeply, nothing is there. This is nothing more than developers taking advantage of technology. Sort of like how even though this game is based around MK1-MK3, Reptile looks nothing like he did in those games. With technology today, they can make characters the way they were always intended to look.

Eh, people constantly complain that they prefer the versions of Star Wars from the 70's/80's to the remastered editions too. There's no logical reason for that other than the Greedo not shooting first thing, but that's because it's a pointless storyline edit, not part of the visual updates.

The weird thing is, I never heard this much complaining about the updated appearances of the characters when they did it in Shaolin Monks. People were almost unanimously pleased with Reptile even though he wasn't wearing a human skin disguise, for instance.

Granted, Mileena never got a render, so they can't tell what color her eyes are in the game.

Relax yall, I don't think its a big deal. During Deception, she always appeared with either pupils or no pupils. You can search her images on google and you'll be able to see. For example, in the arabian looking costume, her pupils are more yellow and in the sexy Mileena render, her eyes look more like Kitana's.

but outworld is so dusty and dry! they ́d get all crackly and hey eyes would itch a lot!!! then she ́d rub them all the tiiimeeeee... and you know she touches nasty stuff, so she ́ll get pink eye... it ́s a mess.

Or I was going to say that some sorcerer could cast a spell to change her appearance. And let's say 'then why doesn't this sorcerer just change anyone to look like Kitana and impersonate her' I'd figure because Mileena has probably been obsessed with replacing Kitana her whole life and has studied her every motion, quirk, speech, etc., so if anyone had both the desire and the ability to succeed in impersonating Kitana, with magic or contact lenses, it'd be Mileena.

Given the fact they are princesses, it's not unreasonable to believe that most people wouldn't notice eye colour of royalty. They would probably be beaten for looking at them!

Outworld politics doesn't really work like that. Except for movies and TV, Kitana is never called "Princess" until she and Sindel freed and moved back to Edenia.
Kahn is the only royalty in his kingdom, his daughters are treated like ninjas who hide, spy, and kill for him because he says so.

With Mileena i always felt like her eyes only did that Baraka look at certain times (kinda like x-men's Storm when using her power) but for the most part they still looked the same as Kitanas. I like them being twins with a bitter rivalry although i still think Kitana wishes 2 somehow save her "sister" from a life of evil. Kitanas always been a little hard 2 read but now that she has her mother Sindel, has freed Edenia and has potential love with Liu Kang, if they can find a way 2 bring back King Jerrod and sway Mileena to the side of good, she would hav the perfect life and family...
