So I think it would be cool if there were sprinklers on ceilings in some stages. So all of a sudden u are fighting with water pouring on both of u. Custom water. If Tekken can do it, MK can do it. Adjustable Depth, color, Temperature (icebergs and glaciers form when you make water cold, and bubbles and steam comes when you make it hot), Current/wave directions, and water flow speed (Stagnant water, or rivers moving so fast they kill you if you step in them). Ground is covered by water like the island stage from MK vs DCU to see the water change into a dark red with all the blood that was spilled throughout a battle.

And Sub-Zero freezes it all and wins instantly against all opponents.

While I'm open to environmental elements, and this one actually isn't bad, elemental powers kinda fudge up the notion. I always wondered why Sub-Zero never froze the rain on Yin-Yang Island, and it bugged me.

To build on your idea, perhaps sparks? I mean, maybe if we're going to have a foundry stage have sparks falling down?

Sparks sounds like a nice idea but I think it will distract us from the fighting we should be concentrating on. You're right about the sprinklers though. Sub-Zero freezes the ground so if there was rain falling it should be frozen after Sub-Zero performs ground freeze. I guess this is why we didn't have seasonal stages in MK9 or IGAU and why we probably won't in the next MK. But they can get creative with the sky on certain stages.

Wait, so it's okay if water partly covers the screen but not sparks? I barely see the difference in games because it would tiny dots of yellow not blinding light.

Yeah sparks are distracting like fireworks. There are lots of fight scenes in movies with sprinklers such as Dead Man Down, Ninja Assassin etc. The sparks could work but not if there was lots of it. There's sparks in Terminator 2 ending scene and if there was lots of sparks going on in MK stages then we wouldn't be able to do combos or strings because the sparks would distract. Also sparks is very situational, like it's only found in steel factories or wherever. Sprinklers could be found on houses, train station, lifts etc.

We sorta have something close already, go to the pit bottom, and they have a large water(?)fall of blood which you can stand in, and the blood goes on top of you, like you were hurt, but not.

Add variable weather such as sunny, rain, snow, lightning, sandstorms, fog, blizzards etc and morning, day , evening, and night effects on each stage also randomize each effect every match. I think this way would be more fun rather than a fixed weather environment stage.

Maybe the Rain falling down is better than sprinklers. What about the other idea, sparks in certain stages???

Something like that in the Cyber Ninja base thingy would work, and maybe as the Cyber Ninjas get more damaged, we see tiny sparks appear around then a little bit.

That sounds badass. Seeing cyborgs fight during different weather conditions and sparks coming out is one sight I want to see more than anything.
