I have unlocked all the Krypt. Designs, Art concepts and music only? Is that all? This Krypt sucks. No pictures of NetherRealem Stuidos, no behind the scene of MK, no sexy and funny pictures, etc.

I remember seeing a video of 'Cooking With Scorpion' in the Krypt from MKDA and It made me laughing. Lifeguard Sonya, the sexy render of Mileena and many more.

Agreed. Its terrible and unorganized. Seeing the same animation 50 times of a stomach explodes gets very old very quickly. I'd much rather it be a giant tomb with a bunch of coffins like in MKDA. MKDA had the best krypt. It actually had stuff worth buying, unlike now where its nothing but renders and arena art. Who actually sits in the Nekropolis and just listens to the music?

Yea...some vids would have been nice. Even all the cinematic trailers we've seen or even character vignettes.

They should add more Krypt items as FREE DLC. Considering how big the Krypt was, kind of a let down.

Only part I found dumb was unlocking krypt ideas.
Why would I want to unlock something that shows the process of how they made the unlocking?

I'd prefer an option to just auto unlock Krypt stuff, I don't enjoy the task of opening all these things, so I just looked up what I wanted and sought them out, but even then it was annoying to find the numbers.

While I think the actual Krypt itself is the best yet, I believe MKDA's content was superior.

Agreed. The contents are underwhelming.

Also agreed. Its the best looking Krypt yet, but the content is complete "Krap". The best content in the krypt can be unlocked elsewhere.

I'm tired of the concept art. Next time there better just be stages, characters, modes, costumes.

Yeah, I still like the concept of the Krypt, I just don't like how it was implemented in this game. At least with the grid in MK:DA, you weren't wandering around with that awkward first person view, moving to close to an object, then having to move back again so it'll bring up the item so you can click to unlock it etc.

I personally think that they need to either go all the way with it or just leave it as a small place for unlocking stuff.

What I mean by that is this: If you go all the way, then make it a sort of grim, evil looking, wasteland-like town where you can talk to people (and in doing so, get koins, get information about characters, get riddles on where to find the good stuff either in the krypt or in the game as a whole etc).

Then have places you can travel to in this town where you can fight, you can edit your character's costumes (within reason of course, I'm not talking about a kreate mode, but cool things specifically for that character that would make sense like maskless ninjas etc), or you can buy entirely new costumes (again, things that make sense like military fatigues for Sonya etc).

Make it a fully realized place with a lot of depth where people will actually enjoy not only unlocking stuff, but the thrill of searching for it and seeking it out. Plus, as I said, it could provide a ton of detail and depth for those looking to get a more complete picture of what is happening or what has happened in the tournament.

Or...

Or you just scale it back. Make it a place that's like the MK:DA grid only much smaller and you use it for the good stuff. Alt costumes, hidden characters, hidden arenas or day/night/weather effects for existing arenas, new modes of play, etc.

Maybe you have some "packs" in this mode like opening up the Scorpion pack shows you character designs, vignettes previously released videos, funny stuff, bios etc all related to Scorpion.

Last thing would be large packs of concept art, game mechanic art and stuff like that. Because honestly? I really have no desire to open this type of stuff one picture at a time. I just don't. I wouldn't mind thumbing through twenty or thirty of them in one pack and checking out a few that look interesting, but spending 20,000 to open twenty individual pics? Eh, no.

One major flaw of this Krypt is the fact that it features alternate costumes, yet those can be unlocked through Arcade. You might as well put endings in the Krypt then also. And you can unlock fatalities in it too, but you can still perform them even if they aren't unlocked. It takes away some of the purpose of the Krypt.

It's not boring, but the content of this Krypt is less exciting. MKDA had the best Krypt, tons of videos, funny stuff etc. I would love to have seen character vignettes, combo videos, NRS team photos, and stuff like that. The layout for the Krypt in this one is perfect, uniquely creepy looking and the best the Krypt has ever looked. The alternate costumes and fatalities are nice too though.

I don't want to look at the staff photos, but this Krypt is lacking content, I thought there would be vignettes of every character.

That's why I waited for the first Krypt guide and looked up all the important things (alternate costumes) and just bought those.

The rest of it can stay locked for all I care.

For real? You know that could as well take 3 more months for the team to create! I think some of you guys are reeeeaaaally picky and have way too high expectations for a game. Who the hell cares about the krypt? I mean yeah it's looking sweet in this game and it's fun to unlock some stuff but it's the gameplay, story and grafics of the game that matter! Not making a stupid town just for unlocking stupid stuff like Frost's hair gelconfused

I would like to see a secret fight or two in there with the Screamers

This was the worst Krypt ever. There was no point to unlocking the extra fatalities and alternate costumes. They had a fatality mode that helped you explore other chances. Why would they give you the alternate after beating the game with that character?

I care about the fucking Krypt.

The Krypt was one of the main things that made Deadly Alliance my favorite MK ever. Every time I got even a couple thousand koins,I'd run there in anticipation of the awesome new stuff to unlock. It was like being a kid again, and getting locked overnight in a toy store.

This is what the new Krypt is like:

1) Remember how the alternate costumes were unlocked in MKDA? You'd unlock that huge render of a character with an actual background, like the character portraits on the select screens in the old games, but not only that,I'd also give you the second half of the character's bio. I mean, that's fucking brilliant. Hell, even the names of the characters at the top of the image were spelled out using custom fonts. It's tiny things like these that show just how much love and effort went into the game.

In this game,it's a tiny picture (not even close to full screen) and a model in the model viewer for you to look at. That's it. =| Which brings me to my next point.

2) The model viewer. It's boring. Would some ambient music and maybe a background instead of a black nothingness be that hard to implement?

3) Concept art of things that never made it into the game. I'll admit I'm about half-way into the Krypt, but aside from the background sketches,I haven't seen a single piece of concept art. The other games were chock-full of it.

4) 20% of the Krypt is composed of those collages of model damage for every character and every costume. We have access to a model viewer that allows us to toggle the damage on and off, making these things completely fucking redundant. What a waste.

5) No vignettes. The bios are just a bunch of text on a black screen.

6) By far and away the worst part for me was the sudden absence of those little creator annotations that came with every single piece of art or even music that was unlocked. I didn't quite appreciate how much life they added to the game until they were gone.

I'm sure I can think of some other things later on.

See, here's the thing. NRS did it RIGHT this time.

Instead of putting a bunch of effort into shit no one gives a fuck about, they put some effort into the game engine and characters.

Keep it up, guys.

This thread proves people do give a fuck.

Though I won't debate that the gameplay is most important, but given the years of forgettable MK's, we just wanted this one to "do it right" on all the angles.

Maybe YOU don't care about the Krypt or its contents, but WE do. Yeah, the rest of the game is great, but the Krypt should be too. It's not like there is a set amount of effort to go around. If one part of the game is great, the rest should be too. You can't just look at the Krypt and say "it sucks, but the rest of the game nullifies its suckiness". Because it does not.

Actually, the quality of the game more than nullifies any suckiness.

I'm just glad NRS is finally listening to the people that matter.
To this day I still havent unlocked everything in the Krypts from MKDA and MKD... Ive had this game since launch and am about 75% from unlocking everything the Krypt in MK9. Something is very wrong here.

And yes the content is boring. I want a wide variety of videos... not just concept art that I can see in the art book
