The infamous Tony Casey is the guy that started it all when it comes to MK rumors. Back in 1993 he wrote to EGM about finding Ermac in MK1. He even included a polaroid picture with his letter. This guy is my hero. I wonder where he is now and if he knows how popular his creation has become. Thanks to ]{ombat for posting the original story below. After it see Ermac's evolution to the mighty soul warrior he is now in the New Mortal kombat (2011)!

It's nice to see that Ermac has own personality and individuality. He is truly a "fan's creation" and the guys who worked on him must be proud to see that nowadays how much that "rumour" turned into a real stuff.

I didn't even notice that until now, MK9 Ermac just has a big gold circle on his back, there's not even his weird "two Es back to back" logo or anything in it? Just a big ol' blank circle? Kind of a wasted space there.

Well you know the guys on the MK team aren't ones to just leave something plain. I'm sure we'll get something on his back by the time the game is released.

And Sektor has what appears to be two pairs of robot boobs on his back.

Those are jet boosters and you already know it.
Kind of like Shadaloo alluded to, I always heard Ermac was originally a glitch in the game (Error Macro). The result of the pixels for one of the "palette swap" ninjas messing up. The abbreviated error message "Ermac" was then presented to log the error, or something like that.
He was never "in" the game as a secret character named Ermac. Some people saw a "red" ninja because of the error and the legend of a hidden character grew.

Good post, didn't know any of this. I though Ermac was from MK3. Anyways, there's Kintaro again in your Ermac Pic.

so forgive my complete sheer ignorance, but this Casey guy somehow doctored the screen to include a red ninja and the words Ermac Wins? That's a pretty good job, or this is one of those secrets Boon was saying has never been truely discovered.
