Do you think the new DC game will have a serious effect on the current MK2011 online population? This is what worries me about the DC game. We all know that the previous MK games are pretty much dead after a new release. But this is different in that it's not a MK game... what do you think?

I'm sure NetherRealm would be sued if its customers would begin to die.
As the only true, new Mortal Kombat game of this generation, Mortal Kombat 9 won't die in a long time I predict. The gameplay connects Injustice and MK9 the most but even that has got some major differences.

I hope it will not, I'll miss my Kratos, Freddy, and other alternate fighters. I think Zmoke is right, if the gameplay of I:GAU and MK9 are quite different from each other, I think MK 2011's online population could continue. If not, well maybe we could gather the few here from MKO, and the dozens in TYM and MKU to make MK9's online our own little friendly community?

There'll be a drop in players, but nothing drastic. Don't worry, there'll still be plenty of people playing Mortal Kombat. It's a completely different game.

If it does, it will be because of time investments, not stylistic similarities. Right now I play SSF4AE and MK9 competitively, and I'm trying to learn DOA and if time allows, Tekken Tag 2. There are a lot of fighting games out right now, so if Injustice gets thrown into my competitive mix, I'm not going to be practicing MK9 anymore. I'll play it in tourneys of course if I travel, but that'll be as far as it goes.

However, if MLG continued a 2013 run with MK9, that would change things. I don't see that as likely, though.

Well I've been playing the hell out of Dead or Alive 5 since released, but I'm not completely forgetting about other fighting games. MK9 is still my current favorite and will always go back.

Considering the style Injustice has taken, the game can be easily viewed as both MK2011's successor and its equal.

I don't think MK2011 will be eclipsed. Besides, not all MK fans are DC fans.

I'd rather watch Annihilation than play Injustice. So as far as I'm concerned, I'll still be rocking MK2011 online.

What does this even mean? You don't like DC? Or you're judging a game before it even comes out?

Either way... God you have terrible taste.

People judge games pre-release all the time. Game reviewers do that for instance – there's a thing called a preview. Maybe he prefers movies over games and MK over DC in general just. That's how I would see it anyways.

But Annihilation? I'd rather play E.T. on the Atari than watch that abomination.

And judging a game pre-release is retarded no matter who is doing it. I'd even say it's more idiotic for a professional reviewer to do so, as they should know better. When it comes to fighting games, even if you've gotten your hands on a build with some characters, the game will change drastically before release. So yea, fuck that shit.

You know what, I see no reason to help blacksaibot out of this, so I'll just leave him by his own. I was just stating the facts in the first place, not my own opinion: I personally like how GAU is shaping up and as a general rule I don't tend to judge a book by its cover. Ed Boon too indicated recently that Annihilation was perhaps the worst thing to ever happen to MK.

If nothing else, I'm sure Annihilation has supplied endless hours of merriment at parties with drinking buddies nationwide, if only for purposes of mockery. It amuses me to no end, just how bad it is, whenever I sit down to watch it.

And it had a bitchin' soundtrack.

The only redeemable part of Annihilation was Sandra Hess rolling around in mud.

That was cool.

She prolly was hotter. I much prefer brunettes to blonde, but Hess had dem boobies and Mileena didn't show her face :(. Probably because they couldn't afford to CGI that tarkattan shit on her.

So, speaking of boobies. I just had a thought. This is how it came to me. I was thinking.... Sandra Hess obviously had fake boobs, and like, that was a while back. We had breast implants and shit in the 90's and they were pretty good. It doesn't seem like that shit has evolved like say... TVs have. Then I was like, when we are we gonna get the equivalent of LCD/HD TVs in boob implants? Then it hit me... what if we put TVs in boobs?

I feel like I just may have changed the world. But I am very inebriated and doped up on sleepin pills... so I'm not sure how legit the idea is yet.

Mortal Kombat and Injustice are very much different.

Mortal Kombat is the ultimate fighting game for special moves, from a freeze ball, to a hair whip, to a giant green net. Injustice seems more tactic based, like the objective isn't necessarily to defeat the opponent via fighting alone, rather than environment familiarity, perfect timing, and good ol' fashioned luck.

In fact, Injustice may very well increase Mortal Kombat (2011)'s popularity, simply out the possibility that many would want to compare the two.

Most likely not. Injustice will be played by MK9 fans aswell as fans of DC. Most of the online population is bad scrubs anyway.
