This deceptively-named article references Ed's April Fool's Day tweet, thereby blasting holes into whatever evidence the author has. Ed's a troll on a daily basis, and he's a mega troll on April Fool's Day.

Even the author expresses doubt about it, despite the declarative, factual sense of the title used.
There's absolutely no concrete evidence of MK vs KI happening, for the moment, so that jerkass should really change the title.

Anyhow, Ed recently tweeted:

This is the only cross-over MK game that I'd love to see, but it sound a LOT more like wishful thinking by the author than anything remotely concrete, especially if Ed's nixing the idea on twitter.

I wasn't aware that it was "widely known" that NRS was after the KI license. Sure, I'd love to see it, and I think it'd make a lot of sense given how hot the genre is right now, but yeah, this isn't happening.

As for the other Vs suggestions in the article, I'd love to see new iterations of Weaponlord and Eternal Champions, but vs MK? Complete mismatch. Don't even get me started on the idea of MK vs Primal Rage or War Gods either.

The only games that I could see having a similar enough style and look to MK to make a cross-over not seem completely odd would be:

Killer Instinct
Street Fighter
Mace: The Dark Age
Tao Feng
Kakuto Chojin

Oh and the ripoff games like Kasumi Ninja on the Jaguar and Way of the Warrior on the 3DO.
