All of the three cyborg variations of Triborg have different models that are unique to each, at least with the helmets (Can they be called helmets if they're stuck to the skin?)
Except for Cyber Sub-Zero and Cyber Smoke. Their models are exactly the same, just with different colors. This isn't a complaint, but more of an observation. If I recall correctly, wasn't there a canonical explanation for this? I don't remember what it was, but I thought someone said that Cyber Sub-Zero had the body that was originally meant for Smoke back in MK9.
I don't know, it's just something I noticed.

Some people thought Cyber Sub-Zero's armor was designed for Bi Han,
bacause the face was similar to Noob Saibot's mask.

I noticed the same thing. I'm predicting that when you select the Cyber Sub variation that he will replace Smoke out of the three cyborgs, for the fatalities and such.

But during the kast Cyber Sub-Zero was alone during his intro delivering a Sub-Zero line. I think he will keep Sub-Zero's intros, winning animation and fatalities.

I will rock you.

Cyber Sub-Zero looks cooler on MKX. I am happy that they fixed his robot suit up a bit and I like it and the same goes for the re-skinned Smoke.

It could be because Smoke was originally the one that was going to be automated into a cyborg, and they had the design/pieces already built, but when they couldn't get him, they used that same stuff to make Cyber SZ instead and modified it a little bit (Like colored it lol) since they were able to capture SZ

I don't think so. Cyber Sub-Zero's mask ressembled Sub-Zero.
They meant to cybernetize EVERYONE. Smoke got away in the new timeline. That's all.

One thing why they will look the same is due to the fact that in MK3, Cyber Smoke's actual color was meant to be for Sub-Zero. In MK3 cyber Smoke isn't gray at all he is actually a metallic blue like color hence why in MK9 cyber Sub-Zero has an MK3 skin. It is because originally Sub-Zero was meant to be the cyborg and not Smoke but that eventually got turned around and in MK3, cyber Smoke is blue instead of his gray color. Perhaps that is why cyber Smoke and cyber Sub-Zero look the same?
