Not that I wasn't amazed, but at E3 Boon said that it takes places right were mk9 ended and over the span of 25 years and now it's revealed that it takes place 25 years after mk9.The way I see it now is that probably Shinnok and Rain might be DLC without them having too much part in the story mode, just like Goro.Hopefully we will get some flashbacks though.Your thoughts?

Ed said there wouldn`t be repeat DLC characters, so if Rain isn`t starting roster, he`s not in at all.

From the very first interviews, they've put the most emphasis on saying that the game takes place 25 years later, but also said that the story jumps around to different points along the way, including events immediately following MK9. I've never been quite sure how the narrative flow will move, since either straight-up flashbacks or time skips from a primarily future perspective might be a little awkward. But I'm very interested in seeing how it develops.
