Im not really one to jump on the bandwagon of unsubtantiated rumor, or looking too much into something that needn't be overreacted to, but...if you look back on his instagram, he's been doing mokap work for NRS steadily now for the past 2 weeks. Seems he had a break from it and is now doing it full time, daily again.

That means either more MK content coming, or Injustice 2 mocap.

Also look at his capitalizations. He's not Ed and doesn't really troll, but if you look at the capitalized words, you have Taking Capture Sword, or TCS abbreviated.

I doubt it means anything - again, he is not Ed.

New update from my friend, he said only this:

"Yes, Carlos has been here doing more mocap work for MKXL!"

To clarify, this is the same person I spoke to when info about KP2 was being highly speculated back in November. He is a friend and former co-worker who had a brief run at Blizzard Entertainment in Irvine (I worked in Austin, TX), and who now works at NRS in a junior level role on the dev team. We catch up from time to time when playing Diablo 3. I tend not to ask him much about his work at NRS since (a) I don't like spoilers and (b) I don't like putting people on the spot.

But, that little tidbit has me a bit excited.

If we're looking at capitalized words for clues, we can safely ignore "Taking" because obviously it's the beginning of the sentence. The notably capitalized words are "Capture Sword," which seemingly indicates hookswords (Carlos is enough of a martial artist to know that capturing the opponent's weapon is the one thing that hookswords are actually really good for) and therefore Kabal. This is fun.

I hope Li Mei is in MKX.

Maybe capture sword refers to a DC character, like Ares for istance.

My source told me that MK XL is pretty much the last straw for MK X, with patches and costumes incoming, but that's it.

NRS wants to focus on Injustice 2 and improve the mobile version, although the team of Ed Boon isn't behind it.

If that's the case, I wonder what my friend may have been referring to. Carlos being back at full time mocap work would suggest that they're working on something pretty big, so my first thought was Injustice. It's possible they're doing mocap for a classic fatality pack (though I don't know who would have the swords). There's been enough buzz since KP2 that they're likely going to have more content, whether it'll be additional characters or not. My buddy has never trolled me or pulled an Ed on me before (i.e. intentional misdirection) so I don't think he was BSing me.
