The dates are for Sundays for starters and are not in the correct order as the NRS press release. Jason and Predator's packs aren't even titled correctly.

No, it's not weird at all. While this post might be fake, if you have been paying attention the characters/packs are confirmed to be releasing at different times/dates. They will not all be out at once.

Yeah, ordering the Kombat Pack allows you to automatically download every character pack that gets released whenever they are. Otherwise, you'd have to buy them all separately, which if you're not a fan of a particular character or skin, may be best
