There's no point if he will do it next game, have to be now. Anyway I never realised that Rain's concept art is so heavily inspired by Prince's look. Especially his MKX skin.

The KP2 was announced months before Gunnar Hansen died and the reveal trailer was 3 weeks after his death. There's no link between the two. TCM isn't even a WB franchise.

There's tons of other stuff Boon likes that he doesn't put in his games. He posts about Basketball all the time. I guess a Michael Jordan DLC is in the cards?

This. The actor's death was a pure coincidence.

If anything, Rain will probably now make the next game's roster due to fan demand and as a tribute to Prince himself.

The best that Ed Boon could do in such a short amount of time is to make a Purple Rain skin for SZ or Cyber SZ.
Even though Boon said we wouldn't have to pay for the same dlc twice,
I wonder how many wouldn't mind paying tribute...

I personally don't care about buying DLC twice in a row. If they fit in the game but don't make the roster, that's incentive enough for me.

Well, yesterday Ed did retweet when someone wrote: "wonder if NRS will make Rain in MKX to honor Prince passing away" or something like that. So it could be possible, Ed was a huge Prince fan, and his death could change the way they originally said they won't do the same DLC twice.

I don't care because I buy all DLC. Wether a character is part of the inital roster, or as DLC to make room for someone else, even if he's DLC 2 games in a row, it doesn't bother me.

And Rain looks so cool in MKX I would be sad to get to MK11 without being able to play this version.

Frankly, I hope I'm wrong, and NRS DOES release Rain as a tribute to Prince, or if Ed just decides "You know what? Yeah. We're making him DLC again". I'd buy it, I don't care. As much as I balk at guest characters, I have every DLC for MKX and will continue to buy MKX DLC as it comes.
