What would you like to See in Future Mortal Kombat fighters? The full motion Video that They attempted in MK4 or do you perfer the Still Screens with text. I figure they can probably got away with The FMV with the impoved graphics

In all honesty, I prefer the still-endings. The FMVs can be cool and all, but because there are usually more limitations in making these when compared to the stills, I prefer them more. Stills will go into more detail about events well after whatever goal the character achieved in the ending, while FMVs will only show immediate consequences. Odds are the voice-acting would be terrible as well (I liked it when Raiden was reading the outcomes in DA).

Still Images. It leaves more creativity to the player and cuts down on production costs, allocating those funds to something more important...like how it plays. Though, I'd like the still to have some sort of "artsy fartsy" direction. LIke pastels, oils, even silver point. An ink/silver point mix would be sweet.

Depends on how they are done. I liked the FMVs of MK4, but I like the detailed info you get with the stills. I say leave the stills for the fighting game, but use FMVs for other possible types of MK games in which the story is being told while you play (Action/adventure, RPG). Or better yet get that damn movie filmed or another TV (cartoon, anime, CG, or live action) series going if you want to see your favorite MK character talking.

I like the tekken 4 approach. One main intro FMV and ending FMV's per character, but the intro's to each character could be stills.

If stills are used in any form, i would like a 'sketchbook' style, or a style similar to that seen on the epic battles MK cards (they look amazing)

Hmmm this is a tricky one. I can see why people would prefer each one.

Stills have the advantage that they are cheaper to produce, and leave more to the viewers imagination. They dont have much rewatchable factor though. Also, it means they can spend more time on other thigns if they dont have to come up with scripts, animations etc which take up time.

FMVs on the other hand, are good in that you get to see the drama unfold, rather than jsut read. They are however, expensive to make, especially if there are lots of characters. Making FMVs could mean they spend less time on other things.

For the next MK, I would like to see FMV endings. We havent seen it a lot in MK and I liked most of the FMV endings of MK4/MKGold. BUT, I dont want them to spend time making the endings really good, and let the game down in other areas cause they didnt have time to finsih things properly becuase of the time being put into FMV endings.

I think that both type of endings have good qualities.

FMV Endings:
-Very Entertaining
-Easy to analyze
-You see exactly what happens
-Less strain on the brain

An Example of a good ending that was done in this format is Scorpion's ending.
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
He defeated Sub-Zero but found out he was innocent all along and when Quan chi tries to send him to the netherrealm, he is pulled in along with Scorpion.

Still Screens:
-You can imagine in your mind what happened
-Gives many details
-Conclusive
-Written evidence

An Example of a good ending that was done in this format is Noob-Smoke's ending.
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
It clearly stated that he was "the Original Sub-Zero", therefore there is no speculation on his identity. He is exactly as they stated.

Man what r u saing ?

Fcource I prefer FMV endings ,theres no space for comparing !!!

Just look at MK:Sm intro or MKD official trailer 4 and all of the others FMVs and then look at the stills.Man the images are kool and all but they dont even fit for the bios..I prefer the bios to be like the bio movies from the kollectors edition from MKD ..Mk 4 style.SO HELL YEAH 200000% for FMV !!!!grin

I don't know how many people played the game but I'm going to tell you anyway.

I think the endings should be like they were in Twisted Metal Black. The style of those endings were simply amazing. Sometimes it was still, but then other times it showed them moving and stuff, while they were explaining their own story. Simply amazing.

What I don't want to see is great FMV's, but bad gameplay. It seems that it may go that way like in MK4. Midway may have worked on the endings too much, and left the gameplay in the bad end.

FMV's would be awesome, and I hope they make it in MK7. I just hope the gameplay isn't hurt by the movies.

Still images aren't bad though. I wouldn't mind seeing them again.

Midway LA (the makers of MK:SM) did a damn fine job of the MK:SM intro (im presuming it was done by them) so if there is concern of Midway Chicago having to spend time on the FMVs, couldnt Midway LA do them for Chicago, leaving Chicago time to work on just gameplay and features?

I agree. Also, I think that the most important endings should be in FMV style and the least important endings be done in still screen.
