Is MKX the last game? (spoilerssh)

posted02/02/2016 03:07 PM (UTC)byQuanchi9After seeing the ending of MKX, I started to wonder if it was the last game. It didn't end on a cliff hanger, like MK9, it just ended showing the Jinsei.
Also, a lot of the villains are dead. Shao Kahn's dead, Shinnok's dead, Quan Chi is dead (), Baraka is dead, and Mileena is dead. Sure, you could argue that no character ever actually dies in MK, but all of their deaths seemed so permanent. I don't think they would show Quan Chi getting decapitated in slow motion without implying that he isn't coming back. Raiden is also dead, so the main protagonist is out. Considering Shinnok is dead, I'd imagine Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and the others are cured of the spell.
Kotal Kahn, Ermac, Erron Black and some others are still alive, so maybe they could make a story about that, although that's probably not going to happen. EDIT: I posted this awhile ago, and at that time I hadn't seen the after-credits scene. Sorry for this shit post. Oh, and sorry for the spoilers.

No way this is the last game. WB didn't buy the rights to MK to just shut down the franchise after a few games, it's far too successful. Besides, the ending is very cliffhangerish; Raiden turned Dark Raiden, Revenant Liu Kang and Kitana rule the Netherrealm, and a few more non-canon endings could very well end up being canon in the next game.
Of course we have no idea what the story will consist of in MKXI, but there's no shortage of characters and story lines that can be addressed and covered.

Did you not see the whole ending??? Raiden is dark and has Shinnoks amulet. Kitana, Kung lao, Liu kang, smoke, sindel, kabal, Stryker are all revenants. Sereena still resides there
Not to mention most others are still alive, Kotal, reptile, erron, d'vorrah, ferra torr, plus the good guys. So a new game is coming.

They would have announced it to their audience at some point before release that this would have been their last.
They're making more obviously. It would be quite stupid of them to make a number of cool newbies and just have it be the end of the road with the series, not continuing on with them when they have so much more to offer.

Yes. Clearly.
They gonna spend the next two years making Injustice 2 and then Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe 2: Everyone has a Darksied. Ed is going to turn Goro's Lair into a proper arcade. It will close in 3 months.

Im sure Ed is trying to destroy everything that made MK great. So im not surprised if MK as we know it ends. and the only remainings from MK will problably be scorpion, sub zero and the title.

Shinnok didn't die. Since he's a (former) Elder God, he can't truly die. Only his head is alive and well.

Yeah. But it still bugs me why Jade was not in the story mode. In fact, MKX's story mode had a lot of plot holes. Some examples include these:
*Fujin appears in Chapter 1, and is never mentioned again afterwards.
*We don't know what happened to Rain and Tanya. They just get off scot-free.
*Jade is missing in all of story mode.
*It's never clarified whether Bo' Rai Cho died or not. They just leave it either way.
I really wanna know why.

Of course it's not the last installment. If it was, the MK fans would go riot at WB Studios.
