According to Ed's Twitter, The Pit will be free as the compatibility download when the game fully transitions to MK:XL on March 1'st.

Well that's good. I was thinking it would be. Normal KP2 is $19.99 so I'm happy it isn't extra. That's the version I'm getting since I have all other DLC. So no MKXL for me :)

Only thing missing from MK1 now is Shang Tsung and The Warrior Shrine.

That is great news. Really appreciated. I think making stage DLC would have been too much. Characters and costumes only.

Disappointing I still had hopes that there would be more surprise stages like Hell, Deadpool, Subway even the Pit Bottom.

It is, but honestly, I wish they would have done a pack and sold them instead of a standalone stage. I was totally willing to pay for a stage pack. This is nice too, though.

I really think NRS/WB missed the boat by not doing a lot of different and great DLC ventures such as an arena pack. People, even casuals, would pay big money for an arena pack. They could've did two of them. I totally would've bought them.

I really hope they start planning things out better when it comes to DLC for the next game. So many ways they could milk us diehards other than pandering almost exclusively to casuals. lol

lol, really though. Even people who don't know shit about MK would still be intrigued by The Portal, Kombat Tomb, MK4 Prison, etc. Imagine the MK4 Prison fatal in updated graphics, it would be brutal as fuck. That's still hands down my favorite stage fatality.

Yeah, I hope they do too. I don't think they realize how much we want to see skins and stages from games other than MK1-3. Shredder Sub would be a best seller, I guarantee it.

Yup. The Prison, Shinnok's Spire, The Elder God's stage or even some Outworld locales like the Golden Desert would've been really fucking cool to see updated with this engine and these graphics.

You might be right, they were originally going to include it with KP2 back in September, but now it's free. We can fight opponents who we don't have access to, but I guess this is easier to make work.
