Jataaka and Kia variations for Sareena if we get her.

Would anyone want these two as Sareena's other variants?

Their universal moves could be team-based ones, while the variant-specific ones would be the character's unique moves (like Sareena's MKA moveset for hers).

For their intros, either they all appear during them, or they each get their own intros. They should all appear during the same outro, however. And naturally, the trio's ladder mode ending should involve all of them, as well.

Minor detail: the announcer should refer to the one you're playing as/against by her own name.

I think the 3 characters in one idea would suit them more than the cyborgs.

I think that would be awesome!!! Though probably not likely.

BUT, what I could see is her having a Fatality that involves them. That be cool too!!!

I'm gonna say no, for the same reason I hate the 3 cyborgs in 1 idea.

No character should be downgraded into a variation for another character, it's just not a good idea.

Nah, if she was included she'd need to stand out on her own. Especially considering how limited her role has been in the franchise thus far.

Nah I'll pass.

I don't like the 3 in 1 ideas at all.

Actually, I like this idea for them.

They've always been seen together. I know Sareena was alone in MKX but this is a good idea.

As long as every variation has 2 moves of the others attacking(like Noob or Stunt Cage) and they share intros, finishers and endings I would love it.

If not them, maybe a new hive mind character with 3 characters fighting as one.

I do think it would be better than the 3 in 1 cyborg idea. It works because Kia and Jataaka have and probably never will be playable. So you're not reducing their status.

However I will have to pass on the idea because Sareena needs to stand on her own.

Not a bad idea but not likely to happen. Besides there's no Sareena's sillouette in the promo teaser.

It would be cool if she had a Kama, a Katana and a Boomerang variation.

Although honestly I think Tanya's variation better fit Sareena than Tanya so I think they might have been meant for her at some point... so I dont think Sareena will be playable.
What about Sareena as her own character, with Kia & Jataaka being a team like Ferra Torr, and Noob Smoke?

I suppose all 3 in one could work. IIRC, Sareena doesn`t have a consistent moveset from game to game...

Intro could involve all 3 deciding on who`ll take on the foe, before your variation steps forward ``Guess I`ll take this one...`` or something.
Last time we saw Kia & Jataaka was in MKA`s Konquest mode, as NPC enemies.
I don`t remember what their moves were in MKA
I... finished them quickly...

Well, you all got your Tremor now. Can we finally move on?

No...if Sareena were finally to get an opportunity to shine in an MK game, she shouldn't have 2 of her variations given away to 2 truly irrelevant characters from MK history.

No way, I hate the concept and I hope they dont do that again. I want to see Sareena and want to see her being fully done, with 3 propper variations, like the other characters.

By this stage of the timeline, Sareena has betrayed Kia and Jataaka and they are not her allies. Why would they fight by her side?

Plus, Sareena's kamas are already pretty similar to Tanya's kobu jutsu. Why add Kia's boomerang blades, which are... exactly, functionally, the same as Tanya's kobu jutsu?

As I said on NK, I'm a little more open to the idea for the cyborgs since there's so much uncertainty on the MK11 roster, but Sareena? No. The other two characters have fanbases so small and shallow that they don't even merit a cameo. It would be like giving Hotaru a masked-courtyard guard variation or Tremor a Chameleon variation

And it doesn't even work from a story perspective. Those two characters are still evil as far as we know. Sareena is not. Why would they be working together? And if you want Sareena to be evil again, then I question why you like Sareena at all. Her defection from the Netherrealm defines the entirety of her character. There's nothing left except generic demon girl #3 if you take away that development.

If MKX taught us anything, it's that being a revenant is the worst thing ever for character development. It botches any relationship development with the remaining cast, and the character is caged into grunt status till Vogel decides they're not revenants anymore. Who would want this?

The whole point of variations is to let you play the character you wanna play without being pigeonholed into a style. Turning characters into variations murders the entire purpose of this.

Id definitely say no to a Kia/Jataaaka variation for Sareena, mainly because I think, as others have said, Sareena needs her own identity and the focus to be on her.

It would also make no sense as in this timeline Sareena is alligned with the good guys and we havent even seen mention of the other two so maybe they dont even exist in this timeline.

I also think there are more than enough possibilities for other variations or Sareena.

She has to have a 'normal' variation in her human form, as well as having a variation focussing on her demonic side. For the third, there is the possibility of a certain type of fighting/martial art, possibly a Lin Kuei type variation (if her story goes down that line again), a variation using weapons (kama, daggers or sword she has used before) a nethherealm variation, a variation based on spells/fire (since her gut buster and 5 star kick previously had those effect). The list is quite large IMO.

Kia and Jataaka have never really interested me much, though I have involved them in some fanfic storylines ive done for Sareena in the past. To me, they just dont stand out enough to make it in the big time, especially with Sareena already being more prominent and also Ashrah having a similar background to them all too.

For starters, how do you know Jataaka and Kia are so evil and loyal to Quan Chi that they wouldn't join a reformed Sareena? Besides, they could turn on one another in their shared ending.

As for them not standing out, I hope you're not one of these Fujin nutcases, because, did he himself stand out much in MKM, when he didn't even have a name or dialogue, unlike Jataaka and Kia? Yet, that hasn't stopped much of the fanbase from drooling over him.

What makes Jataaka and Kia any less deserving of another chance than Fujin, Tremor, or Blaze who started out as a background character and ended up a final boss? Or Ermac, who started out as a freakin' glitch? Or Noob Saibot, who started out as a joke? As did Rain, originally.

Fujin was in MK4. Jataaka and Kia don't really have anything comparable to that on their resume.

Fujin has more fans. He also had a visible role in MKX. He also has established relationships with relevant characters.

You know what? Cross all of that. Fujin is a god of wind. He's a freakin' god of wind. Once that's on the table, what else matters? If you ask people, "why do you want to see a deity who has the power to manipulate air and beat the shit out of people?" the question sorta answers itself.

Well, what made Fujin more deserving of becoming a playable character in MK4 than Jataaka, Kia, or any of the other bosses in MKM?

Of course Fujin has relationships with relevant characters and more fans, they gave him a chance to achieve all of that in MK4 and beyond when they decided to not only give him a name, but made him a playable character. Why shouldn't Jataaka and Kia get the same chance?

Hell, what made Fujin more deserving of returning in MK4 than Sareena, who was easily the third most promising new character in MKM next to Quan Chi and Shinnok?

As for Fujin being a god of wind, well, so far, he's been little more than an AirMac, gameplay-wise. That plus his design's pretty bland. Yet people give Jacqui shit for supposedly having a bland design (which I disagree with)?

My point being is that people give Fujin a pass for things they hate other characters for. He seems to be the most requested non-ninja, much more so than Havik, Reiko, Kabal, and, oh yeah, Sareena. All of them having more original designs and movesets.
Fujin was the only nammed god in Mythologies, besides Raiden & Shinnok.

The other 3 elemental gods didn`t get official names, despite fans constantly trying.
