Mortal Kombat Rpg?
Its an idea, im not sure exactly how itll play but it sounds good if made right. But aslong as its hack and slash and nothing like Final Fantasy or PSO. Post ur ideas here. Better be on the PC not a console.
Think of making your own character in an epic struggle versus good and evil and using powers and stuff.

What was so bad about PSO?
As for the rpg concept, I can see MK going into something like that, but that's not saying it's a good idea, MK has enough problems transitioning from 1on1 to an action game. RPGs are usually conisdered much more complex. The MK universe let's it self to being a good rpg with alot of backstory and mythology, but because you make your own character, the whole game would have to be non cannon as to keep from disrupting the already messed up story line of the MK universe.

maybe it would work as a MMORPG, with everyone travling between the realms, fighting each other, pledging thier support to either Raiden or Shao Khan. Create your own clan, or join the Brotherhood of Shadows. Make a name for yourself taking on a champoin like Sub-Zero and defeating him. Who knows? that would be pretty kool.

I'd love to see MK become an RPG, I mean, with the story it already has, and the fact that characters make alliances in the story already, it could happen.
Example: Imagine Sub-Zero leveling up and using other ways to manipulate his ice ability, like spread the blast to freeze multiple opponents, create ice spikes from the ground, have it snow and affect the field/strength of attacks/evasiveness.
He could then meet up with characters associated with his specific story (Sareena, Frost, or Kenshi for example) and then make a traveling party.
The players could battle hordes of Outworld creatures, like Oni, Shokan, Tarkatas, Centaurians, and a slew of other creatures that are part of the story.
That's just an idea of how an MK RPG could work, and if done right, I'm sure that it'd get quite a few fans of the genre playing.

I have actually made a few MK rpg's with RPG maker. The first few weren't that great but once i really learned how to use it i made a really kool one and to most ppl that played it they liked it. So I guess Mk could make and RPG game. MK could also maybe make a game that would be like Starcraft or Warcraft, which would also be pretty kool imo.

jerrod, they wouldnt use subzero in their rpg, cause they already used him in mythologies. scorpion would be cool to use. have his entire story played out, with some new info and charecters. he could use his hellfire and spear in new ways, like combining them for a hellfire spear. THAT would be awesome.
