Midway isn't going to take time off of their busy schedule to see if they can make their old games suitable for the DS. If I were you, I'd be more concern about MK8 than this.

I think it would be a bit foolish for the MK guys to ignore the DS.
Its the current fastest selling platform (I think) and a lot of potential new fans could be made with a new MK game for the console.

Well, they don't need to ignore the whole system, but they don't need to worry about adding a game that's already been made for an older system to make a comeback. If anything, they can try to do something like this after their latest installment to the series comes... whenever the fuck that is of course.

Of course. Either that or letting the license out to another developer to do a new game based on the MK8 storyline but maybe, a different genre.
