Hey fellas,

Do you remember how after Mortal Kombat (2011) DLC, we got Kenshi, Rain and Skarlet as main playable characters...

Woops, we only got Kenshi. And Rain as a NPC character. 1/3.

But I know, we will have to wait until MKXI, but with a Kombat Pack, at least we can play their Khapter in Story Mode, their alternate skins, etc...

Woops again, they aren't feeling 100% as a part of main roster, plus 1/3.

And, with the 1/3 precedent... you wanted a plethora of canon MK characters. Specially characters like Fujin, that are instalock for MKXI, or more "bullshit" by putting as DLC a NPC character from MKX...

But no one cares about 3D characters when we got Mortal Kombat (2011). And now we have to except that WB, NRS and casuals cared about Hotaru & Cia? Half of the board even cared about them...

Blame for "X character wasn't DLC" if the next main NRS game isn't MKXI. But if we got MKXI for 2017, trust me, NRS are making you a favour with all guest DLC characters...

Well, out of the 33 characters that were not in MK9 at all, we also only got 1 character (Shinnok) in MKX (before DLC). Those odds are far worse than 1/3.

I don't think one is related to the other.

I've never bought the "saving characters for the next game" argument, what happened to all the characters absent from MK9 is a good example.

Understandable. However, I believe Fujin is a special case this time around.

I literally can think of no other reasoning behind such blatant disregard for fan demand.

The next MK game is set to be release, in the best case scenario, in 2019.

Fujin's last appearance as a playable character was in 2006. To see him fully fldged with his own specials and Fatalities we have to go back into 1997.

This means that to see a new Fatality from Fujin we'll wait 22 years from 1997.

That's why Fujin was needed RIGHT NOW.

Agreed. It is clear from interviews they decide the roster when the team is in production phase of the game not in the cycle of the previous iteration.

They've hinted at Shang Tsung in many endings. Do you think it makes sense to release Shang Tsung now when the story is over and with a moveset that only has a few weeks to come together? Not really.

That's why this argument exists.

He's a recurrent character in the franchise, there's always a possibility of him coming back in every title. A KP3 is just wishful thinking, better save all those WB Icons for MK XI.
Doing me no favors.

I didn't expect Baraka to be in MK11 after Story mode did away with him like that so DLC would have suited me just fine. That's all I wanted actually, just him. Other characters would have been nice but he was the only one I really wanted.

Instead I get an ayyyylien pretending to be Baraka.

Don't buy any guest, and one day no xenomorph will replace our Baraka.

That's the response from me from MK9 to now to whatever crap they stick in MK11. Fuck off with your guests NRS you're not getting my money with this tripe.

As for Baraka at this point he was screwed over so hard in X I don't even want to see them bring him back from the dead in the next game.

Make a new Tarkatan and give that Tarkatan some respect and do him justice.

NRS uses that whole "Saving them for the next game" excuse just to shut people up. It means nothing. People who keep expecting big stories for Fujin and Jade and others that are being "saved for later" will end up disappointed. The perfect time for Fugin's re-emergence was this game.

Totally agree with you.
Although Jade has some more chances due to the Dream Realm and the mysterious woman in her ending on MK9, plus her cameo in Kitana's ending.

So you really don't care about story or canon, as long your favourite characters are playable, looking cool and they aren't broken.

Maybe all of those years are sending to NRS the wrong messages... which it's true partially.

We have Goro, Tremor, A Cyborg and 4 different guest characters. All of them are not in or from story mode. The Cyborg has a moveset from a character that doesn't even exist in canon.

The state of Story Mode, everyone jobs to the good guys, NPCs exist to job, Character Chapters are lazily written and even hurts the growing reputation of characters like Kotal Kahn, Erron Black and D'Vorah. Characters like Shinnok, Mileena and Quan Chi are not presented as credible threats. Cassie in story mode and Cassie in game are two different people.

And remember MK9 had its problems too like Sindel killing everyone in 2 minutes.

Even though they died some Revenants like Kitana, Liu and Kung Lao show up with noncanon primary outfits (where we thought meant they were freed..NOPE!) and other revenants still have their MK9 outfits with yellow veiny crap stuck on them.

So I ask you when NRS doesn't care about story or canon, why should I?

Story/Canon has been disregarded when it comes to DLC so putting Baraka in X would have been fine despite his death.

Now MK11? Don't pretend NRS doesn't like to bullshit characters back to life I'm merely saying don't do that with Baraka.

Just make a new Tarkatan warrior instead so they can do something with him plot wise, character wise and moveset wise.

Agree.

Let's go back to MK9 when Kenshi became DLC, then ended up on the main roster in MKX. Now, Tanya was a candidate for MK9 DLC, but wasn't included. In MKX she got her spot as DLC. She will follow in Kenshi's "footsteps" and will end up on the MKXI main roster.
Fujin could be next in line to be DLC in MKXI, then become main roster in MKXII. Hopefully, he goes to main roster in MKXI off the hop.

NRS stopped caring about story and canon years ago as evidenced by the shitty stories of the past three games. So I see no shame in focusing on the latter. And MK11 isn't releasing in 2017- try 32019.
