Somehow he makes no sense to me besides fanservice. How can he be even canon to a future story line? And how does he work after all?

We see 3 Cyborgs fusion with each other to form one Triborg? Hell there is rumored to be even CSZ as well?

And now to the main problem I have with a story with him. Who are those Cyborgs? Cyborgs are huans with cybernetic stuff as Cyrax and Co before?

So how does it work with the fusion. Are they just robots right now without humans underneat the armor?

And how the hell he get the abilities of Smoke and maybe CSZ?

At the minute he doesn't make a whole lot of sense to anyone. I'm sure we'll find out on the 1st of March. I am quite interested to find out exactly who he is though and if it's likely he'll be a returning character for future games. Unsure if they'll keep the variation system though.

I really believe it will be canonical, but irrelevant. Nothing more than a random cyborg new Lin Kuei. Same as the Chameleon.

Triborg is a (dorky) name used to refer collectively to a character that is similar in function to Noob-Smoke, however in this case the character is comprised of three (plus a not so hidden fourth) classic "Cyborg" characters. While you can't "tag in" the different characters like you could with Noob-Smoke, the other Variations do assist you with certain special moves and finishers.

While the character's relevance to current MK lore is still up in the air, everything else is functionally the separate Cyborg characters, playing very similarly to their MK9 counterparts with several updates to to keep them fresh and competitive with the rest of the MKX roster. No special moves are shared among the Variations, but some combo strings and finishers are universal. The character's X-Ray is the essentially the same across the Variations, however each Variation initiates the X-Ray in a different manner, Cyrax's being an anti-air for example.

The character is, practically speaking, three (four) separate characters, with the biggest caveat being that unlike the rest of the MKX roster, each of Triborg's characters only have a single Variation. This is not an insignificant point, but only time will tell if the majority of players feel it is a deal-breaking compromise.

TL;DR: You can now play as Cyrax, Sektor, Cyber Smoke, and Cyber Sub-Zero in MKX. Have fun.

The idea of a single cyborg retaining the fighting styles and specials of all three/four cyborgs was born into some fans' minds and made its quick way into the forums, exactly like Tremor and Tanya.

I clearly remember people longing for a "super cyborg" or "cyber-chameleon".

Now we finally have it.

If we don't like it we do not have anyone else to blame, if not ourselves.

Tremor, Tanya, Bo' Rai Cho, Fujin and even Triborg were fan requests.
Guess who got shafted????

Hey, but we have Tremor now. And Triborg.

Many have explained the gameplay so I'll tackle the story behind him.

While we don't know for sure yet, the leading theory is that he is a new robot who has the ability to adapt technology from other robots.

Perhaps he was creates by Sektor as a back up plan or new project. Perhaps he comes from somewhere completely new.

He likely has absorbed data on sektor's (as seen in the kp2 reveal trailer) and cyrax's remains as well as pulling data from the Lin Kuei data bases. This info likely contained information regarding the cyber conversion of sub zero and the planned but not carried out conversion of smoke.

This new robot, who you can call triborg, quadborg, quadbot, tekunin, cyber-guy, etc, will presumably attempt to re-establish the cyber Lin Kuei as well as potentially attempting to resurrect /create entirely new versions of his numerous personalities.

Any other questions

Dude, there's a theory that the other robots are holograms projected by Triborg. So there is really one body with some weird tech in it that mimics the operating systems of the other cyborgs. There cannot be real bodies, because at least Sektor is blown to particles except his head. I think Cyrax is a puree too. Smoke is just some program and robo parts unused for the ninja, CSZ.. I don't know, but the point is there are no bodies who are replacing the originals. Just parts and programs.

If not hologram Triborg could be let's say Chameleon who collected the remaining parts and programs of all the robots and made him custom body and OS and proceeded to cybernize himself. His ability to mimic is somehow build in and fused with the program and body and that's how he can change his appearance. That can include the hologram idea, because we see all the cyborgs at once and 2 of them always disappear much like projections.

We could've known more on his story if ShaolinChuan wasn't scared from the security and picked someone else to see different intros and sneak the info here grin

Man, you seemed like a reasonable human being for two paragraphs. Leave that drama in the thread already flooded with it.

Also you can see Triborg projecting hologram when he wins the round, so he may be capable to project some type of ultra advanced updated and customized "project blue beam" type of hologram with sound and even touch features therefore the holograms can fight for real.

Also when you look at his "transformer" fatality he turns into that big inquisition machine formed by 0's and 1's or whatever which is much bigger than his actual body and the other cyborgs combined, so it isn't really possible if it's not a hologram.

Add to that, that Noob Saibot is alive and had plans to create cyber demons plus cyber Sub-Zero is possessed by Shao Kahn in his ending and you have it. Shao Kahn is behind this in the body of CSZ (that's why they teased us and he was a "secret") and Noob is loyal to him and capable in reprograming robots (look at Noob-Smoke bio and end) so they executed the cyber demon plan and are coming to destroy everything that breeds.

Check Sektor's MK:A ending here for more ideas on how things can went : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfIx2g-GYfw

Noob/Smoke Bio :
Under Shao Kahn's rule I hunted enemies of his throne. As a member of the Brotherhood Of Shadow, I did Quan Chi's bidding. All the while serving Shinnok, Lord of the Netherrealm, as well. Now all my masters are gone. I am at long last free to pursue my own destiny. Outworld is where I will begin my ascension to power. Now is the time to forge a legion of assassins loyal only to Noob Saibot." "I found my first "ally" in the abandoned fortress of Shao Kahn. Deep in the labrynth of torture chambers and prison cells the cyber ninja Smoke, lay inoperative. A war trophy of the late Emperor, Smoke had lain there since the invasion of Earthrealm. It did not take long for me to reactivate his nanotechnology, which reshaped and repaired his artificial body."

Noob/Smoke ending:
"With Smoke as his template, Noob Saibot planned to return to the Netherrealm and use Smoke's nanotechnology to create an army of cyborg demons.

Smoke's MK:A End:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx8NnHORzoA

That could be the tech Triborg stole from him, so he can create whatever projections he wants.

Sektor's MK9 ending:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mljB-7i8tnI

Grandmaster could be involved too because his soul is in the medallion and can take over Sektor's soul and body or head :D

CSZ MK9 ending:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KplpTfaqXBo

Shao Kahn possesing cyber Sub-Zero.

There is a mention of Noob in some dialogue between Kung Lao and Sub-Zero which point that Saibot is indeed alive. And his MK9 bio states he is loyal to Shao Kahn.

Don't forget that we now have Blaze no matter that he is in the background, someone is trying to kill him. Events go near Armageddon, so he can be involved too somehow. I have to think on that a lil bit more.

Triborg should've had tag team moves like Noob-Smoke instead of just finishers..
