EA or Activison would be more financially sound choices for the MK team.

Financially sound, but more mediocre choices than Rockstar or Arc System Works.

EA's got a history of doing nothing new. At all.

ARC System is a Japanese company, and they're quite small, so that's pretty much not gonna happen. As for R*...I'm not sure they'd be able to handle it financially.

As for EA, you apparently forgot original games like Mirror's Edge, Skate, Dead Space, Army of Two, etc. The also publish Vale's titles, such as the Orange Box and Left 4 Dead.

And why are you so concerned about a company who does nothing "new"? I thought you wanted another MK game. An 8th MK would be as much a rehash as anything else they'd bring out sequel-wise, sports titles not withstanding.

Mortal Kombat would look the exact same as in FireQueen's drawings.

Well, a GTA MK game would be rather...odd, to say the least, but an exploration style action-rpg in the vein of MKD's Konquest mode would be cool.

Actually, I'd probably mix elements of MKSM and MKD's Konquest together.

I agree with those saying Rockstar shouldn't buy MK. I don't recall offhand any fighting games - if any - they've made. While they deal with "mature" subject matter regularly (I hesitate to label constant references to "69" and so forth mature. ), they don't seem to have the background to make a fighting game. Though I imagine they would at least be able to carry on a story well enough.
