In my opinion Hornbuckle was simply a fan made name as well on SNES Jade appeared and said Hornbuckle Who? and that is why fans named that Liu Kang character Hornbuckle. The name Hornbuckle was actually someone who worked on the game. Her name can be seen in the arcade game's credits. In my opinion the green striped Liu Kang character from the Pit II is actually Liu Kang's twin brother mentioned in his original bio from the official MK comic by John Tobias and his name was Chow Kang.

-Did Blaze/Torch emerge from the volcano?
Torch is a fan name. Blaze is his name and he was an elemental created by Delia and Argus to protect the dragon egg.

-What is his MKX story significance?
No significance. Rain vs Blaze in the Pit background is simply a reference to Mortal Kombat Armageddon storyline. Blaze was the element created to guard the great dragon egg. Whomever would defeat Blaze would be granted elemental powers. Rain being the son of Argus if I remember correctly, or he is Delia's son, anyway it would make sense for him to defeat Blaze to become a full god so that is why he wanted to defeat Blaze.

-Will Blaze/Torch and Rain be in KP3?
I hope Rain will be along with all the other story line created fighters that should have been in Kombat Pack 2.

-Secret stage fatality with Torch/Blaze?
I will say no.

Argus and Deliah created Blaze to monitor the realms. He was locked away by a cult of the Dragon King to protect the egg. The years locked away corrupted his being, which is why he turned into the monster seen in Armageddon.

Rain is the son of Argus. He's been referred to as such more than once and if he was Deliah's son he wouldn't be half a god. She's powerful, but she's no deity.

Exactly how the two users above me said, plus Rain wants to kill Blaze and absorb its powers BEFORE Daegon and Taven find him.

Do not forget that Daegon created The Red Dragon Clan to find and kill Blaze, so he doesn't know the elemental whereabouts.

So, Taven is still sleeping in his obelisk, Daegon already driven mad by Shinnok and Rain considerino himself a true son of Argus when in reality he is an illegittimate son. Maybe Delia doesn't even know who Rain really is.

Fair enough but I'm still keeping hope alive that the legendary Torch is a separate entity from Blaze and that Hornbuckle does indeed exist as a deeply buried secret in the MK universe. The newly erupted volcano goes great with the reintroduction of Torch/Blaze. He may have been dormant in there until the eruption released him..

There's no legendary Torch. Torch was the name given to the character by fan, later made canon as Blaze by NRS. Hell, his first bio talks about his MK2 presence as the ambush when he was caught by Onaga's holy men.

There will never be a fire construct named Torch.

Torch is Blaze. They couldn't use Torch for legal reasons.

Isn't Delia Argus' second wife? Maybe the first is Rains mother.

Did Blaze/Torch emerge from the volcano? No, he was created by Argus and Delia. Though that bridge was wear he was attacked by the cult in the original timeline, or at least thats the bridge I believe his og bio was referring to.

Will Blaze/Torch and Rain be in KP3? - I doubt we will see Blaze playable for a while, and I don't think Rain will be simply because they said he wouldn't be DLC two games in a row.

Hey, you never know. This is a continuation of the rebooted timeline afterall. The changes could've been rippled from way in the past. "Torch" could still be separate from Blaze by calling him something like "Inferno". Ok here is his stage fatality: Torch swoops in and flies the opponent up to the volcano and drops him in. Cut camera to him falling inside with a huge lava geyser coming up and incinerating the guy. Cut back to the Pit and see the volcano erupt gloriously.

We do not know how many wives Argus has had.
I suppose the second option is the right one.
Rain is referred as an illegittimate son, he was given to a general of the edenian army who grew him as a son.

If he gave Rain to a foster father, there is a reason, which is unknown at the moment.
