You just started another thread about Scorpion. Why?

things i dislike about Scorpion:
-stale revenge storyline untill
-lost it's menacve after MK2
-empty and repetitive
-we still have to see wether his new occupation evolves his character or not. If not, then I say good riddance.

What I dislike about Scorpion could fill a university essay!

Scorpion was, and still is my favorite character. But they're taking away everything that was fun and cool about him.

One thing I can't stand is the notion that now Scorpion can "die" whenever he wants, wake up in the Netherealm, brush himself off, and get moving again.
Back in MK1, they said after he died Scorpion was given a new body. Meaning his original body was destroyed when he died and he needed to be given a new one. So if he died again, he'd need to given a new body again. So they were consequences for "dying" again. He couldn't just "die" whenever he damn well felt like it.
But they seem to have forgotten that and now Scorpion is unkillable. Lame.

The thing that made Scorpion my favorite was that in the early games, he was a brooding, tormented loner. He was trying to honor the memory of his family and regain some semblence of his own honor. There was tragedy and nobility there.
But it seems lately Scorpion's just been a mindless, angry drone, blindly chasing after any poor schmuck who happens to piss him off for any inane reason. His quest for revenge doesn't seem like something he does for the love of his family anymore. He just seems mad over the principle of it now.

I question whether or not the MK team really knows what they're doing with Scorpion. It seems like they're about to do something cool with Scorpion's story, then ruin it somehow.
Like in Deadly Alliance. Quan Chi was one of the main villains. As we learne din MK4, Scorpion now hates Quan Chi. You'd think this would be the time Scorpion, who in the past has always been a neutral loner, to step forward and become something of a hero.
But no. He gets his ass kicked by Quan Chi during Konquest. Then gets jumped by Moloch and Drahmin and chucked into the Soulnado.
But that leads to the Elder Gods making Scorpion their champion. This was cool because it seemed like a desperate times/desperate measures solution. Onaga's going to unite the realms, Earth's heroes were defeated, Raiden's losing his mind....the Elder Gods were running out of options. So they takle a chance on Scorpion, making him an unlikely hero.
But then they immediatly piss all over that notion by having loser Shujinko kick Scorpion's ass.

They're turning Scorpion into the "fanboy's" character. The guy they shove in the make sales. I think that's one reason why his story rarely changes or is changing very slow. I've seen on other message boards fanboys complaing about Scorpion's new story direction saying stuff like "That's so lame! Scorpion's an undead ninja spectre man! He should be out for revenge!" These are same guys who like Scorpion for no other reason than "He's from hell! He has flaming skull face!"

I liked Scorpion before he became the "official" most popular character. Now that he's become that, it's not as much fun being a Scorpion fan.

It's as I've said many times and in another thread on this board. Scorpion's story is imo poor. The revenge theme is dragged on throughout each game and it's irritating. His MKD storyline gives him so new purpose, but it seems to be there just to delay his revenge story from finishing. Why? Because without it, imo, Scorpion is nothing and wouldn't be needed again in MK. Because of this they drag his story on for as long as they can. The MKD story is just there to stall.
