LOL. IIRC Salazar was Erron's name when he got announced on that WB cast sheet but it's very weird that they put it on the poster since Erron's already there.

Salazar was his original name in development but was changed to Erron Black for unknown reasons, and there are still intro quotes in the files that address him as Salazar. I assume it is due to the controversial case about a kid named Salazar who killed someone because he was obsessed with MK.

Maybe Erron Black is an alias and Salazar is his real name. Wonder if they'll reveal his connection with one of the old characters.

Classic marketing mistake. The agency that printed the poster was probably sent an incorrect roster from NRS/WB marketing department listing Erron Black's beta name as a separate character, and so the marketing team, which is not in full possession of the facts surrounding the game, utilized an immediately available image (the hand-drawn art, in this case) to represent the "character" of Salazar.

Outside of the Dev team, other teams within an organization do not always have full possession of the facts.

It seems like a mistake like the inconsistency of his hat. He wears it throughout the comic, yet two of his variations and his tower statue lack it. I'm just wondering who Ron Tan Cho is.

I think it'll be perfect to reveal that Salazar is Erron Black's real name.

They most likely changed it from Salazar after the fact that a 13 year old named Salazar, who was a fan of MK, fatally stabbed another kid believing he was Cyrax

I was coming into this thread to say that I just got a poster with some EB concept art naming him as Salazar while EB was still present...on the same poster.

Unlikely. Hsu Hao's original name was Kublai Khan and Drahmin's original name was Amon. They just changed it.

When I read the name Salazar I immediately thought of that midget from RE 4

One of the Kombat Kasts said his name was Salazar, then NOMAD, then Erron Black.

And Salazar sounds silly when paired with D'Vorah, Ferra/Torr, and Kotal Kahn.
